Ship Interiors

Well, we are five years on and it still seems that the ship interior is exactly the same as it was five years ago. I know you can invite other players onto the bridge or the ready room but it seems such a shame to be wasting the large areas that we can currently walk around within the ship such as Engineering, the meeting/cantina areas and the large corridors.

Are there any plans at all to make better use of these areas to make it worthwhile being able to beam inside your ship and walk around? Also, there seem to be way too many NPC's walking around!
