Your omega goals?

A simple question: do you have a target for how many omega upgrades you want to craft in the time available? I have six toons and the majority of their gear is Mk XII so I know I'm gonna need many, and however many I get it's not going to be enough. I get the impression there are plenty of people out there who have them by the dozen already :D

At the rate I'm going, not accounting for impending nerfs to drop rates, I'm looking at about 100 or so omega kits by the time event ends. I thought about selling the components I got for EC (the sooner the better as prices are dropping), but I figured having the kits would be more beneficial.

Maybe 20-30 by the end of the end of the event, one per day. More than that I'd claw my own eyes out.

Maybe 4 or 5. It's not worth my time to grind for hours a day, and it keeps me from joining the grind-whiners.

Has 30+ kits already. I make 3 or 4 kits a day. I am so just so good at the mini game that the green+ omegas rain in my inventory. I find it hard to get commons omega mats. So I hope to turn a few of my account bound ur into epics

    Not many.

If the game stops jumping for me (each match jumps/shifts particles a number of times), I could get higher scores get better rewards and craft more. As is I have to craft from the floor and work up every day.

    Dunno...

Maybe 3 or 4 per toon if I have the time. That's 21 or 28 kits in total in the best case scenario.

I was just thinking about this... I have to be away for a chunk of next week, so I'm shooting to have 10-12 kits crafted by a week from Saturday. It's a pain to convert all of the materials, so obviously, that's my biggest slowdown. I'm probably gonna watch the exchange, as well, to see if mat prices hit a sweet spot.

I would love to get around 18 done by the end of the event... however, I'm also waiting on tomorrow's patch to see how it affects the potential outcome of the upgrade process.

    Likely 15-20.

My skills at the mini game is improving. Picking up shards periodically.

I am beginning to perceive that I can make experimentals in a fraction of the time it takes to get 1 Omega, but the dilithium costs for application makes it still worthwhile.

    One, if that.

Mine are too, but it doesn't make boring content any less boring. I don't bother with vlugata for the same reason.

I'm not really personally in a big hurry for em. I'll make them as time goes on through the event, but I'm not about to grind in any way shape or form. Honestly more than anything I am watching the exchange to see how their prices go for the lesser parts.
I remain empathetic to the concerns of my community, but do me a favor and lay off the god damn name calling and petty remarks. It will get you nowhere.

    Exchange and its prices:
Common = Average around 40,000 (depends on color). That would mean a sliver would have to be 120,000, a shard 360,000, and a fragment 1,080,000.

Uncommon =115,000 so selling common junk (specializing in best priced color) is better. Turn these into rares to get more EC.

Rare = About 410,000. Sell these on Exchange.

VR = 1,250,000. Sell on exchange.

If you're good and fast at playing this game, it's 8-10mil EC an hour.

I'm not currently selling the stuff, but I might sell for a couple of days and then go back to grinding for upgrades. Can make some good EC which I can use to buy me a couple of things I want from the Exchange.

Total number of Omega Marks is whatever I get from the Q daily qetting my qmendations. Otherwise couldn't care less as it's more efficient to just farm dil and ec for the regular upgrades.

I get what you are saying of course, but the prices on all of those have been going steadily down since the event began. They've gone down considerably all around the past few days. Varying amounts depending on which thing you look at, but overall, still a lot cheaper from this time last week.

And will only get cheaper starting tomorrow when the patch goes through.

I do the daily Q for the ship and each time I collect a set of three. This year however I stick to collecting stuff, next year I will make some kits. The minigame is not to grateful for me. Perhaps I am slow. although in real life I have good and fast reactions, so perhaps my system and my connection may be part of the problem. I life in Europe, perhaps my mouse has to cross the Atlantic each time I move it. The mouse seems to hang on the screen, like it is glued.

With this situation, the minigame is no longer fun. I do some doffing or set up crafting projects in the mean time. To compare. I did perform well in the winter race, but as I remember, if it was a close finish, I never got the flag, although, I spammed the f button.

The whole minigame is no more than a crafting project. The only difference is the mats are just beside you. Anyway, I like this game and play it a lot, though I am not in a hurry.

I think I agree on that one. :)

Compared to other methods in this game to get upgraders this event stuff is boring to tears and not even remotely profitable.

I am only doing the event to acquire the ship. Two of my chars can craft superior upgrades, so I have no need to play Space Tetris. I swear I hear the music for that in my head when I start the Daily for the Qmendations. The Reward sound effect for capturing a particle is what started it.

I'll probably do the Daily on my other Fed char, just to have a stock of Qmendations for next year. i think right now I have a grand total of about fifteen or so of the particles in all colors.

and having cryptic rubbing their hands and with glee on their face you start legitimizing their sorry state of a grinding system. no thanks, my personal omega goal is simple, not bothering with grinding this and that any more then i have to at minimum. and anything i get i sell off.

No idea. I have two currently, and that may be it. It depends on whether we can continue to refine traces/slivers/shards/fragments post event to finish up, and whether the price on the exchange of all those drops to unworthwhile levels. I've been selling off my proceeds and buying keys for the current lockbox. No luck yet, but its all good fun.

I think I will only end up with a few of them.

No matter what i do the mini game just does not work for me. I have 15ms lag and 60fps solid according to showfps but the game is glitchy. Whenever the pieces speed up they jump forward by about 1/3 the board length or more.

I wonder if it is because I am not in the USA right now but no matter the reason the best I can do on the minigame is about 800 and at this point you get the same reward as doing nothing.

The combines take too long to do and too many have to be done if you have to do traces all the time so I gave up on the event.

I know they tried to make a different kind of grind for this event but I just can't do it and gave up on it.

    I would say about 10.

I did one, and tbh for reward on time/effort invested, it's not really worth it.

I gave up on the omega stuff. Got tired of the timer only going one or two seconds before it ended the game. At this point I don't care if they fix or already fixed it. I'm doing what things I can putz around with in STO and playing other games more.

Crafting Fragments (VR) with everything I get, so I can choose to sell them later, or craft the Kits if I decide to.

Kits are account-bound and can't be traded, so once you craft them, you are pretty much required to use them. It would be nice if they weren't, following the premise of the other kits.

I will craft a few kits for myself for a couple of stuff I want to try taking to Epic quality.
