No it is not my connection.
When I get this (usually after logging in, but also during normal gameplay) the ingame latency display stops completely. For several minutes. Anything I do during this period is apparently collected in a buffer. When the games decides to respond again every command and every keypress recorded during the spike is played back at high speed.
TS3 (running on a second screen) shows a latency of 25ms. So I know my (wired) network connection is perfectly fine.
Running speedtest.net during a spike shows the internet to wherever I choose to test is perfectly fine.
The problem is with cryptic's internet connection/the server itself.
