Thoughts about reclaiming old school items.

Ok, First things first. This is not a QQ. I have been playing since day 1 of early release. Off and on over the past 5 years, but pretty steady. I love my alts but i do have a main. However, little over a year ago I changed my main. First character as a main was ... meh. I made lot of mistakes and just wanted a fresh start. I did not delete my old main, just changed him into an alt.

So here is the thing. My old main has a photonic tribble and the Science photonic boff from the referral program back in the day. I put a ticket in asking if there was any way they could move those 2 items onto my new main. Like a one time thing, don't mess up again. Cryptics reply was to use the in game mail system. if the item is bound then they are sorry.

Im not happy about it, but hey. It is what it is.

I then asked if they could find out if maybe those items could be reclaimable later on in the future. I don't need timeline or anything, just a simple "ill pass it along" would have been fine.

Here was their reply

"The referral program has already ended and unfortunately, you won't be able to claim the Photonic Tribble and Starfleet Photonic Science Officer Candidate. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience."

I wish they could be moved over, but Ive been playing my new main without them for a long time now. Just curious if anyone else has any thoughts on this. I think it would be nice if you could at least reclaim some of these items that you can no longer get, even if you can only have 1 per account still.

Anyways, it would be nice to get a little more information from a dev, but I won't hold my breath. So feel free to add your thoughts in. Ill be checking in off and on.

There is probably nothing existing in the code / mod control panel that would let them do it even if they thought it was allowed.

It would be nice of the devs to add it to the mod controls, but this only affects a tiny tiny fraction of players and that same dev could be working on trying to fix the loadout bugs, or to make Incite Chaos not infect friendlies, or get Q-mendations working in ESD, or....

Instead they schedule someone to make a change to the raw database tables, but that is a dangerous change to make for one person, not to mention expensive. Would you pay $500+ to have your tribble moved?

I think this falls under "in a Perfect World" ;) but not a realistic one.

Im not a programmer or anything, but just kind of seems like they could move an item over pretty easy. And no I wouldnt pay that much lol. I have been doing fine with my new main for over a year without those items.

Main reason of the post is just to see what others think. I do wish they would offer some of the old items again, either events or in the c-store. I do regret not buying the emotes so long ago.

TBH there's no reason why old out of date content can't be added to the reclaim function in the Dil store.

Definitely worth putting forward as a suggestion to the new EP :)

You can claim The Photonic Tribble in the C-Store. He may be under te Legacy Tab, or the item tab. The Photonic Bridge Officer is also re-claimable. Both of these were account unlocks, so all of your toons have access to them.

The ones I have are from the referral rewards. They were limited to 1 per account. Kind of why I was wanting to get them moved, since I can not claim them on any other characters. That and the fact that the boff is a one of a kind. Nothing special ability wise, but a unique look and all.

Darksith is right, the referral rewards are *not* one time unlocks, they can befound under the legacy tab of the c-store.
Beta, LTA, CE, Multiple preorder Versions, all Addon Packs except AoY, nearly all KDF/Rom and ~50% of all Fedships, over 25 LockboxShips, Endurer of Atari's "Year of Hell", but...
    unfortunately:

    NOT LOYAL ENOUGH!!!

    ...

Mail system only works for unbound items.
Account bound goes via account bank only.
    Character bound goes never.

I put in another ticket, hopefully I can get some answers, Thanks everyone who said the items should be listed under legacy unlocks. I was about ready to give up. :p

Are you sure you got them through the referral program? If I recall correctly, they were also available from the Holiday Gifts for doing the Winter Race as the main reward before the Breen ships were introduced.

The photonic tribble and bridge officer obtained through the referral program is available to every character on an unlocked account. However, the photonic tribble and bridge officer from the Holiday Gifts were only available to one character.

100% sure. Even the rep I talked with told me they were and that's why i could not claim them on any other character.
    Hello,

Thank you for the screenshots you provided. The Photonic Science Officer and the Photonic Tribble from the referral program is not an account wide unlock. You may only claim the items once per account.

So basically I can delete my old main and never see them again, or keep my old main as an alt and get to look at them from time to time.

I just don't understand the big deal about it. Move 2 items from one character to another, or let me delete them and reclaim on a new character.

I had the Gal-X as a referral reward, as well as the photonic BOFF and tribble and all of my characters have access to them (well, my rom and KDF can't get the Gal-X, but you know what I mean).

The photonic tribble I claimed via the legacy unlocks under the c-store menu. The photonic BOFF I just claimed from the personel officer for each faction (dunno if that's still an option, someone said they couldn't find the FED one recently and I haven't checked yet).

Well, I guess you are all lucky then. I have tried support twice now, and both times been told I was out of luck.

Only other thing I can hope for is that tacofangs stops by, maybe he can give a better answer as to why I cant get them on other characters if nothing else.

I have been thinking of deleting my tribble and hoping it would show in the reclaim, but if it doesn't then i have permanently lost my tribble.

Transfer your toon to Tribble and try it. Unless there is already a magic Reclaim Button over there, it'd give you confirmation of if it should work on Holodeck.

Submit one more ticket and request it be escalated to a Supervisor. Explain to them that it IS an account unlock and you need someone to examine your account details.
