Help making decisions.

Hello all. So I am considering buying myself the Delta expansion, but I really only play Fed character, is it worth it to get the whole pack? I have my eye on 3 ships, The Phantom (for tact torp build), Guardian for engineer tank build (mainly want it for the lvl 5 trait), And the Dauntless for Science, also will be a nice trait combo with the Guardian. I would likely use all the ships if I have all the ships, but I don't want to spend more than I have to. But if at a later date I decide I want a KDF or Rom, then I wont have any T6 ships for them aside from over priced ships in the exchange.

My ultimate goal is to have 1 fed character for each "class" (tactical, engineer, science) as my primary playing characters. So I am unsure whether or not to get the whole pack or just those 3 ships, That being said....

Considering for the first time building a torpedo boat, I have also been debating between the Avenger Class Battle Cruiser because of the VATA console and the 5, 3 weapon slots over the Phantom, though the cruiser lacks turn rate, I think the extra weapon slot and VATA console and that you can get a T5-U fleet version, might make up for it, what do you guys think? Would that be superior over the Phantom for tact torp boat, or should I consider a different build for either of those ship?

    If you're going to buy 3 ships anyways, then its basically pay $35 more for all the rest (ships, doffs, boffs, tokens). From an efficiency stand point may as well. Mind you thats not a ringing endorsement; they're nice ships but not OMG world-shaking if you go without, particularly if you already have an assortment of other nice ships to use instead. If you're going to buy a bunch of T6 ships anyways then yes its worth it, but don't feel pressured that you HAVE to go T6 unless you want to.

    Also if you're gonna do 3 different classes to explore, its worth playing all three factions as there are bigger differences that way than just playing the same Fed missions with Sensor Scan instead of Attack Pattern Alpha. If you want to branch out, go all the way.

    Sounds good and all, but I have reasons for going all Fed. That's mostly due to the fact that they get far more support and attention than the other factions from both Cryptic and players. More fleets, more ships, more races and so on. Also, I am a fan of the "Starfleet classic ship design", saucer, pylons, so on. If I do ever play the other factions, it will be because I want something different.

    Also, buying 3 T6 ships would be 9,000 Zen ($90), the whole Delta pack would be 15,000 Zen ($150), that's a $60 difference. I have allotted myself $150 only 1 time for something I wanted out of this game, plus $15 for a 1 month sub for the benefits. I had my eye on a couple costumes, credit cap, a couple lower tier fed ships, so on. But that is what brought about this thread. Couldn't make up my mind on the whole pack or the misc stuff including keys for a shot at these Vaadwaur ships. Speaking of which, the only things that would benefit me is the ships, the titles mean nothing to me, the upgrade tokens would be sold, the Boff's likely wouldn't be used due to traits from other Boff's such as "Efficient" and so on. But having those extra ships and lvl 5 traits could be useful... plus having the extra ships would open the door to "want to try" the other factions. Oh and I also wanted some keys... and since I am broke in game.. well I gotta spend real cash lol.
