What is the Arc Client?
Install Arc

Windows 10 tech preview crash

I did the update to win 10 today and can't get the game to work.:(

I have tried uninstalling both the game and arc, reinstalled and crashes as soon as I hit launch.
I know that win 10 is not supported yet but thought someone might have a fix for me. Brighter minds and all!:D

Reply or message me if you have a fix.

i realise you may have been eager to test out windows 10, but why on earth did you do it on your main computer that you use for gaming ??
my only suggestion would be to roll back your comp or laptop back to your previous windows till they work out some of the flaws and bugs that generally is associated with a new operating systems...

I also have Win10 (build 9926) and was also having it crashing on me. Every time I clicked Engage to launch the game, it crashed.

I found that running STO directly from the exe worked. Mine was in:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Star Trek Online_en

    Hope this helps.

    Solution for Windows 10 users.

    1. Open the updater normally. Let it update. When the button says "Engage", close the updater.

    2. Now navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Star Trek Online_en\Star Trek Online\Live

    3. Open GameClient.exe. Done.

Just remember to run the updater every day to keep the game current.

Note: You may need to install the DirectX 9 (June 2010) Redistributable. STO should always be run in DirectX 9 mode.

Have you tried compatibility mode? It might help.

It's ARC. I've noticed this as well when running other games (example - TOR) that require a launcher.

Just run the launcher as normal instead of running it from arc and it'll work fine :)
