Finally, they're coming! But something caught my attention in the Q&A section:
"Q: Will my existing science ship automatically receive a Secondary Deflector?
A: No. However, any newly claimed Science ships will receive a Secondary Deflector. Alternatively, you can purchase a common Secondary Deflector from any energy credit starship equipment vendor."
If you read this too fast you may think that only newly claimed sci ships will receive a secondary deflector slot.
But in reality every sci ships will receive a Sci deflector slot but only new claimed sci ships will receive a secondary deflector in that slot.
Can Cryptic re-sentence this? It may confuse some people.
Part 2:
What you guys think about the different types of Deflector? Do you think it will improve your sci ships?
Comments
Sure, they will. I think they are weak thematically, by which I mean it doesn't really seem to make particularly story-telling sense. But two types of them straightforwardly add more damage (more damage is always, good) to science powers, one buffs healing. And the modifiers buff science skills and sensor analysis or subsystem targeting. All of that will be useful.
I don't know if it will be enough. In my experience Science can already be very fun to play, the bigger issue IMO is that many high level science powers aren't all that great. But Gravity Well and Tractor Beam Repulsors are great, so it's not like it makes science worthless. I'd just like to see some more variety in my options.
Indeed. I misunderstand at first too. But after reading the thing 3-4 times I understood
It should be:
Q: Will my existing science ship automatically receive a Secondary Deflector slot?
A: Yes they will receive a slot. However, any newly claimed Science ships will receive a Rare Secondary Deflector. Alternatively, you can purchase a common Secondary Deflector from any energy credit starship equipment vendor or reclaim your ship from the C-store to get that specific secondary deflector.
Easy...lol
