I did not and never will consider entering a foundry challenge. I do not have the time to try and put out a mission in such a small time window. I am slow and meticulous, and I have college work that takes precedence.

In addition, it seems those are the only way to get on a spotlight list now. I want to get a mission I created for my original series on the spotlight list, not one about a random theme for which I do not care for.

As a follow-up to my chat remarks on the subject, what I've decided to do is simply replace the RRW Verinex (the ship Tiaru Jarok commands in VotS3) with the Lleiset. Since Jarok only appears in Part III, that way I'll only have to reskin a couple of mob ships, change the ship name in a few bits of dialogue, and rewrite some of her post-credits dialogue. Otherwise I would have had to change the time frame of the whole VotS trilogy, which would have required a lot more rewritten dialogue throughout.

I mentioned Twilight of the Gods, my upcoming KDF trilogy. A heads-up to KDF players, in case you missed my follow-up announcement (which I posted just as the show was wrapping up): Sometime in the next few days I plan to post the first two maps of Twilight of the Gods Act I for playtesting, and as a sneak preview of the trilogy. As you will see, the storyline deals with the slaying of the Klingons' gods - but it also ties in with the Season 9 Undine story arc and even one of the Undine reputation queued missions.

While I can't argue against putting your college work first, as a fellow slow and meticulous author, I've found this challenge to be a great way to push my own skills as an author. To really dig down and assess what the meat of my mission is.

I think that's the way to go. I don't think you could change the time period too much without fundamentally altering the series. It's really a Romulan Republic coming of age story and that's how it works.

My thoughts right now are to have my "Divide ut Regnes" mission taken off the Spotlight list once the new patch goes live removing the official Romulan missions. The storyline is just too intertwined with Divide et Impera, Saturday's Child, and Preemptive Strike to make much sense in its current form if it stayed on the list.

Removing it from the list gives me the freedom to modify it into a "you messed with the timeline...see what happened" mission that still has some relevance and can be used as a sort of touchstone to the removed missions.

I appreciate the offer but like I said, not interested in a random theme for the challenges.

I made the aforementioned revisions to VotS3 and republished the mission last night.
