I love how the launcher is sitting there "Loading, please wait". Has been for about 15 minutes. Why do people actually pay money in this game? The broken games I regularly buy on Steam have less problems than this one. Did PWE forget to renew their ISP and we're being fed via dial-up?

I had this problem yesterday myself. And apparently again today.
Edit: Tried a workaround a friend suggested to try and use the gameclient.exe itself to bypass the launcher. Timed out on the account server. Is something borked? I can't even play STO now, yet Neverwinter's launcher seems to work just fine.
I can't take it anymore! Could everyone just chill out for two seconds before something CRAZY happens again?!

Where it says Search All Files and Programs, type CMD and press ENTER
The first result should be cmd.exe
Right-click on cmd.exe and select Run as Administrator
A black, command-prompt window should appear
From here type the following command:
tracert patchserver.crypticstudios.com
Good Results:
Values lower than 180 are ideal for playing MMOs (and anything under 100 is outstanding). Higher values usually cause lag and rubber-banding in-game. Report any values above 180ms. Right-click in the Command Prompt Window and select all. Save as a text file (txt).
Nitpicking is a time-honored tradition of science fiction. Asking your readers not to worry about the "little things" is like asking a dog not to sniff at people's crotches. If there's something that appears to violate natural laws, then you can expect someone's going to point it out. That's just the way things are.

the tracert results for me are ALWAYS below 140 here (just like for pretty much EVERYONE who submitted their results here in the past weeks) but the damn game is not working

I discovered my problem. IObit Malware Fighter was blocking it, even though it was letting Neverwinter through. Turned off the AV, and STO Launcher worked. If you guys are having similar problems, check your AV.
I'm not totally vulnerable, as I got other programs I run for a layered defense, but its a suggestion if you guys are still getting a black "Loading. Please Wait" window.

Now this could be a problem by itself, as most Anti-Virus products are designed with the assumption that 'It' is the only AV running. Having multiple duplicate AV products installed have been known to cause system stability issues...

The only real active one I have was ASC, and Malware fighter is from the same company. I've had no problems running Malwarebytes as I'm not using it as an active, but as a secondary scanner after the primary to catch anything that gets through. Other than that I have Spybot and the Microsoft AV. Haven't had problems until Malware Fighter decided to join the list. Its not active and will only work when I turn it on.
