I go to run instances to get materials for crafting and I run in to one of two problems usually. The first is people not knowing how to run the advanced and elite instances. That is something Cryptic can't solve on it's own and is a player problem.
The second however is the disconnects during instance and sometimes in non-STF instance runs. I notice that people quite regularlly disconnect from this game and especially since Delta Rising hit the disconnects have been quite frequent and are impacting me now. Every other mission I run I get disconnected from the game because the client program stops operating and crashes out. I ran the diagnostic tools in the launcher and no problems detected.
I can't figure it out, not even the log files in the STO directory are giving me anything meaningfull. A while ago I ran in to a crash with the client and the log files showed a corrupt hogg file was the problem. This time the crashes are killing the application before it even manages to log anything it seems. So far none of my other games have crashed like this so I'm highly doubtful it's a hardware or driver issue with my Nvidia card unless it's triggered by the STO game code esclusively.
My other frustration with STO is with the game design. My Federation Romulan science captain has no Tier 6 science ships available. I never played an MMO before where the developers basically ignored classes of factions before like Cryptic is doing with Romulan and KDF science toons. Sure they can fly escorts or cruisers with tactical or engineering focus at the Tier 6 level but I want a science ship. Especially since pure federation players got 3 or 4 T6 science ships while Romulans and KDF have zero.
I certainly don't feel like spending more money on this game anymore since it really isn't offering me much in the way of entertainment. These problems I pointed out are ruining a really nice game I think.

Well said.
I find the entire dilithium system in the game, which is geard to drive players to the echange and ultimately spend real wold money on zen, to be as broken as broken has ever been. It is obvious as to what cyptic and PW are doing and all one need do to see it, is stop and think. Why the reduction in dilithium rewards, why the increases in all things that cost dilithium? Why the changes in the DOFF missions and Mining that ensure more failures? etc.
Hell the entire upgrade system is nothing but a huge dilithium sink and for cyrptic and PW, a cash cow. If you don't upgrade you cannot participate in advanced queues and expect to win since your gear is below DPS specs.
I could go on but why bother, this thread will be deleted soon and whatever we post won't matter two ferengi mud tics any ways.
What happened to those unique forum ranks I paid for?
Many of recent disconnecting issues can be traced back to the first update of December, at the beginning of the winter event. Prior to that, the only times I had ever disconnected from the game or had the client crash in my four years of playing was due to server or physical connection failures. Ever since December though, I had begun experiencing something close to two to three disconnects a day (over a play period of about three to four hours). Whatever they did, made the game client extremely unstable, especially during graphically heavy (or more likely, information exchange heavy) times.
