Passionately. Even in the days of the coin-op arcade, the worst thing someone could do to me, beyond jostling and catcalls, beyond insults and taunts... was to join the game.
Even when I was into games and simulations with vigorous online, multiplayer components, I preferred to play the single-player career mode, only reluctantly venturing into the world of multiplayer. Even Microsoft Flight Simulator was more fun in an empty sky than with even one other human-controlled craft.
So, when MMORPGs came on the scene, I avoided them like the plague. I wanted nothing to do with a game that REQUIRED one to play multiplayer.
Even when a friend offered me a trial of EVE Online, I resisted.
And then that friend offered me a trial subscription to STO.

At first, I didn't want it. I thought of it as "World of ******** with a Trek skin". Not my idea of fun.
And then he described it as "a single-player game with a social aspect", adding that the missions were completely playable as a SINGLE PLAYER, and that, if one wanted to, he or she could go through the ENTIRE game without interacting with another living player.
So I accepted the invite, and joined the game. It was EXACTLY as described. Multiplayer was completely optional, and I reveled in ignoring everyone around me.
I even subscribed and maintain that subscription, even in the era of FTP.
And then the Fleet System was added.

"Great," I thought, "here we go down the road of elitist a-holes and drama queens that made me hate multiplayer in the first place".
But, early reports were that the system didn't really offer much, so I felt okay ignoring the fleet invites that started popping up.
And then i started seeing Toons wearing the Odyssey uniform, and learned that it was a Fleet Exclusive.

I wanted one. Badly.
I didn't want the ship modules, nor the starbase access or anything else. I just wanted that uniform.
Just. That. Uniform.
So I joined a Fleet...
On the upside, I finally stopped getting flooded with fleet invites.
(Hooray!)
But I also learned that the Fleet Tailor did not unlock until Tier 4 and it took SO much precious dilithium to get there that nobody was willing to contribute.

And then it was made the default uniform, available to everyone.
(Hooray!)
And I was quite happy.
And then I saw Toons wearing the Odyssey Dress Uniform.
And then I saw the Odyssey Combat Uiform.
(Expletive Deleted)
So now, I am looking for a Fleet of kind souls who would be generous enough to allow me in just long enough for me to get those uniforms.
Nothing else.
Just. Those. Uniforms.
I know I'm probably coming across as some kind of sanctimonious twit to some of you, but I'm increasingly disappointed in the diminishing love for the single player that the developers (whom I continue to support with my monthly US$15 subscription) seem to have, and I simply needed to vent.
Join a help channel like nop public service or pa:psts.
Once in that channel, politely ask for an invite to a Fleet Starbase with a tailor. You shouldn't need to join the fleet - all you need is a map invite to their Starbase.
Go to the tailor on the Starbase, and buy the uniform you want. I believe you need a modest sum of fleet credits to do this (which are earned by having donated to any fleet - it does not need to be this one in particular). From what you have said, it looks like you already have some fleet credits.
Then use the tailor and make your character look pretty. Say thanks to the person that invited you before leaving. You can unjoin the help channel if you wish.
Incidentally, I would also advise you to have a look at some of the Fleet Gear on offer at the Starbase, Mine and Spire. Some of this, like Fleet Tactical Consoles, Fleet Resilient Adaptive Shields, Fleet Engineering Consoles, etc, are frankly the best gear in the game, and make things a lot more fun. Most fleets do not require you to actively take part in social elements - you can be a lone wolf in the background if you want.

I'll be logging on presently to do my daily race, so if you see Amy@JHHarris, please feel free to issue that invite.
Fleet credits shouldn't be a problem. I have plenty of those.
