Bugs to keep players in the game

Isn't it clever, creating missions like Tides of Ice, make it as a requirement for items players want and buging the mission, so that you only get one of the requirements every other game ? Oh, and let's only allow the mission once every hour. This is genius. Other MMORPGs can learn from this. More bugs = players stay longer in the game.

You're crossing into the realm of tinfoil here.

It was just another bug among many that plague the game.

Maybe. I had a lot of bugs lately and it starts to TRIBBLE me off at some point. Maybe this bug was just the last drop. But I really have problems understanding the process of how this winter wonderland stuff came together this year. And thinking about all the ideas implemented, from the binding of new equipment to so and so many games of Tides of Ice till the bugs in that specific "event", it just comes together so well. We all know the speed bugs get fixed and it makes sense if you see it in the long run.

Oh please. Tides of Ice is FUN, I continue to play it despite no longer needing anything it pays out.

Your complaining, like so much of the other similar tripe, is nonsensical and tiresome.

"I got mine so stop complaining!"

As frustrating as that bug is, I have had other instances when I've joined ToI late and still got a completion reward. So IMO it's genuinely bugged because it works both ways.

Equally, Cryptic have just shifted the mission so that multiple plays unlock the store across the account, not just for one alt. This is the polar opposite of the behaviour you describe.

There is a lot wrong / frustrating with STO but the Winter Event is not the problem...

Log in first with the character that had it unlocked. A 'Legacy' mission is auto generated for the character that unlocks for the account. I have had no issues with the unlock.

You give Cryptic far too much 'credit'.
It's just yet another goof up on their part.
