Anyone have any tricks to make, from a space map, it look like ships are bombarding a planet?
A Trill, a Gorn, a Jem'Hadar, Bejoran and a Voth walk into a bar, and the Bartender asks "What is this a Joke?"
"Nope, just my away team" the trill replies before ordering a round for the bar.
Best I can think of is make LOTS of explosions trigger near a planet with ships stationed around. It is only good for one volley though. Unless you have them come in a sequence. That is all we have unfortunately. No true "bombard" animations.

I think you can trap enemy npcs inside a planet. Whether you can then shoot at them I do not know.
That may be worth a try.

It can be tricky but do-able with a little smoke and mirrors.
Something tells me npcs inside a planet might get messy... like them popping out. Maybe put them inside an asteroid inside the planet. That should also keep them somewhat stationary.
I remember Kortaag's mission (Amicus Apparatus) had a sequence where you fly by a planet with explosions happening "planetside." You might want to check that out to see how he did it.
I did an exploding planetoid in my very first mission way back when (The Omega Directive). What I remember was using reach marker triggers for the sequence, lots of explosions but not too many at once or the foundry bugged (this may have been fixed since then) and also remember that the explosions need to be in "draw distance" if you want the player to see them.
