Still, regardless it should have been back online at 17:00 UTC and it clearly isn't. We still have the big red blob of doom on the launcher.

Still, I've come to expect this. I started playing this on the launch date... actually pre-launch on the beta... great game but too much downtime and too many server kicks.

Well, it could be more nicer of them, if they would keep on the top of the forum page - thread about server maintenace. Otherwise I am browsing in forum to search up a correct thread indeed. :)

    Sorry, but no.

STO suffers because we have 2 part-time CMs while other games, like NWNs, has a full-time CM. When Brandon was our CM he was on top of these things just as much as Dwight is for NWNs.

It has nothing to do with PW, money, or greed, or grinding, or anything else. It is entirely due to who we currently have as CMs and how they choose to operate.

so what your saying is it is the cm's fault for all things in game. When they are only the inbetween for players and PWE and it has nothing to do with the way PWE run as a bussiness or their form of it. It all the middle guys fault for eveything beacuse he make all the fainal plans of the bussines and they need to be full time? I would like to see you deal with what they do as a person. i not saying that the devs. not make mistakes but you got to rember they are under pwe they don't run pwe. and having a full time cm will not make a big driffence it just meens you could place the blame on them like your doing now.

No. I am saying this thread is about the lack of communication. Communication runs through our CMs. If the CMs are not doing their job we are left in the dark - as we are right now.

If you want to talk about XP problems, or Upgrade problems, or Dilithium grind problems, do so in those threads. They have nothing to do with communication.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

the real communication problem is not so much with the devs as it is with PWE

No. It has to do with OUR CMs. Other Cryptic games' CMs are keeping their players informed as to what is going on. We have 2 part-time CMs who are not properly doing their job right now.

When the game doens't run like its supposed to I blame the DEVs.

When content is rushed out to meet a deadline even if its not ready i blame PWE corp.

This bit is easy to see. The engineers take the servers down and put up "the standard announcement" then get to work. Assuming that our 'community relations' reps will handle details like forums announcements. Can't say for certain but guessing that each part timer assumes the other posted the announcement is the most likely scenario. But who's at fault for replacing an effective full time rep with 2 part timers? PWE. Doubtless in an effort to cut costs.

So if some want to blame PWE for this lack of attention/communication.

    They are not wrong.

Aye this is a joke I'm past caring about being banned.

Our CM's are just morons, in it for the pay check, and **** the job basically.

I hope you both are out on your TRIBBLE jobless. You do not deserve to be part of STO.

    1. You don't update us on what is going on.

    2. You lock threads giving the information with no explanation WHY?

    3. You lie and hide nerfs hoping the player base don't see it.

    4. You do reply with faulty maths and condescending attitudes.

    They don't deserve their jobs.

thank you i have plade PWE games even before crypict was even on the list and seen how PWE does thing and for crypitc it not good. The only Communication PWE Understands is the money. The devs try to do what they can when they can but they are not superman or super girl so you do get mess ups. just think of what if you were the devs. as it is said walk a mile in their shoes.

Indeed, a lot of people complain about Brandon's time as CM and although he may not have been perfect (who is, we're all Human) he was always on top of things like this. He pretty much lived his job. I remember during a live meet up in Edinburgh with him he was even getting emails and texts and formatting messages for the forums regarding upcoming Dev blogs.

As much as I like Trendy and Smirk, we do appear to suffer for having two part time CMs instead of one dedicated CM. It's bad when you're having to check the forums of games you don't even play to get updates about the one you do play.

Yeah its gotten so bad that CM's that are supposed to be using the website for communication and advertisement aren't even doing that. We thought over hyping was bad on brandons part but its funny how you can miss that when they don't even spam you with advertisements to buy lockbox keys anymore.

Operation Lockbox will start when everyone logs back in. Our mission to mail as many lockboxes as you can find to all the cryptic devs. There has been a troubling rumor these people have been starving for lockboxes and have such sad faces for 125 zen a day you could make a dev somewhere be able to eat massive amounts of items they slave over making but don't get to play with themselves. So feed a dev today and mail them as many lockboxes as you can before they cannot accept any more mail.

Bah, they just don't like talking to the unwashed playing masses is all, and who can blame them? We're a bunch of losers that don't feel like giving them our cash for stuff we've already got but they broke in the last expansion and now need to upgrade.

He actually works as a CM after he left Cryptic for the company Red 5 Studios for their game firefall. So I doubt he will ever be coming back to STO as far as the CM.

The plan is that these lockboxes when collected into one area will start to attract each other and it will create a big giant lockbox that will take all of them to drag the key to it to open it. When they open it they will fall in and have to grind their way out of it or else it will give them all pink slips for their reward.

Here's it what I think has happened,

Because of the livestream Smirk is running today, he's starting work late today (maybe 10am, around now). None of the other PWE CMs want to touch this forum because of the rage (some righteous, some not), so we get no news on the situation.

Expect to see a post from smirk about this soon.

    Wow, just wow.

    This is really bad form.

I never knew Smirk and Trendy were part timers only, wich certainly explains quite a lot.

With an MMO you can't have part time CM's, you need full time ones. This here is a prime example of this.

Is it really that hard to write up a forum message to inform us, hm? No, it's not, and they really dropped the ball here. Why could not one of the devs have posted this, if Smirk or Trendy has not done so?

Really a bad case of communication failure...

The rage (I doubt anyone will disagree with me here) comes from the statement by D'angelo upon notifying us he is back in the saddle. The key points of his message about acknowledging grind fests are boring when he fight the same thing that never changes over and over again and he led most of us to believe(if you took it for what was said) that they would be taking a different approach to how they do content. Then when the people playing this game realized its not only a grind fest but the most ridiculous one ever created by cryptic. So in all of that being said they really shouldn't go after devs because for one they were just doing what they were ordered to do and second they did great work but had no control on how their work was going to be used against the player base. So what happens is there is a circle of rage where the source never speaks or listens to the player base so the cycle just keeps going round and round with the people beneath the ones making decisions in which never solves any problems and creates doomsayers like myself.
