Fellow Foundry authors, on the latest episode of the Foundry Roundtable we came up with the idea to start a thread to try and list all of the "doors" - entry points for missions - that we feel need to be added. We want to collect all of the missing doors in one post so there's a one stop shop for any dev who might decide to help us out in the regard.
So, we need your help. We need all the doors as well as NPCs and interact objects that are not currently hooked up that we feel should be. As I can't remember them all off the top of my head, this thread will allow me to crowdsource and get you all to help me list them. I'll update this OP as we go.
There are some questions we should consider while we do this, such as "Does every NPC in every social hub need to be available?" and "Should social hubs be doors, and not just have doors in them?" What I mean by that is the Sol system is not a door, but the social maps inside it do have doors on them. Should Sol be a door? And by extension, the other social hubs, or the Dyson Sphere? Discuss and if we come to any decisions on those I'll adjust the list accordingly. I also know that time is limited, and I do not know how long it takes to hook up a door, so what is everyone's priority.
First, I'd reinforce that I think we need to be judicious with our final list. We could provide a list with 300 doors and objects objects, but it's extremely remote that it would be implemented. Be looking for objects/doors that could have a strong value to many Foundry missions, not just your own. A lean list of strong additions is far more valuable than an all-inclusive monstrosity.
Second, I'd like to point out that at least the ESD social map has a couple of reach markers on it meaning it's possible. Keep this in mind if you can think of a few high value places a reach marker could be handy.
Lastly, feel free to voice the reasons behind why you think something would make a great addition.
I don't see why we can't compile the list in the same fashion we did the maps and features, which were pleasantly added (thank you again for that drogyn).
Generate the list, then vote on which ones would make the most impact for authors and players.
Reach Markers or interactable consoles in all Holodecks or holosuites could be useful for missions intended to be simulations or recreational
Main ones I can think of being Hathon City and Starfleet Academy
The Shuttlebay area on ESD, theres an NPC in that location that might be useful for beginning missions that take place on or near Earth you could get to via Shuttle
These are the Voyages on the STO forum, the final frontier. Our continuing mission: to explore Pretentious Posts, to seek out new Overreactions and Misinformation , to boldly experience Cynicism like no man has before.......
Do the Fleet Starbase "systems" in Eta Eridani block have doors? (They didn't, last time I checked.) If not, they should probably be added to accommodate fleet housing and such.
Come to think of it, the fleet starbase interiors themselves could use some doors for the same purpose.
Which sector blocks specifically do they not have that they should have?
Here's what we DO have:
Fed Blocks:
Alpha Centauri
Alpha Trianguli
Beta Ursae
Eta Eridani
Gamma Orionis
Iota Pavonis
Orellius
Pi Canis
Psi Velorum
Regulus
Sirius
Zeta Andromedae
Fed Zones:
Andoria
Bajor: Hathon
Deep Space Nine
Drozana
Earth Spacedock
Memory Alpha (yes I know.... they don't work but.....)
New Romulus
Risa
Starfleet Academy
Vulcan
KDF Blocks:
Eta Eridani
Omega Leonis
Orellius
Pi Canis
KDF Zones:
Bajor: Hathon
Drozana
Klingon Academy
New Romulus
Qo'nos: First City
As you can see, the KDF can't use Cardassian or Romulan space for mission doors. It'd also be nice to have KDF doors inside DS9. Also.... why can't KDF use Gamma Orionis?
Also it just occurred to me that there are no doors on Defera ground.....
Did some updating of the OP thanks to Mark. Not a comprehensive list just yet, but a good start.
For those not on twitter, we had a conversation with Zero and Taco yesterday about the often-talked-about idea of placing a universal door on ship bridges. According to Taco, because each bridge is a separate map, there isn't a way to make a Foundry door universal across all those maps.

This was zero's contribution:
If it's possible to create buttons to transwarp to a given location from anywhere, or a button exit from any point on a ground map, adding a special flag to the right door on each bridge map, adding a vicinity check for a door and slapping a show-button function on it for what's essentially a beam-to-map isn't a large jump in logic... Or is it that the programming team can't even do that if it doesn't make Cryptic money?
While I do agree that the KDF should have access to all the open zones for Foundry doors, it may not be practical for Fed/KDF to have access to Sirius/Omega Leonis respectively, as players only gain access to those zones under specific (non-level related) conditions. Kind of the same problem as having doors inside the fleet starbase.
I think the Tau Dewa doors should have priority, since that's the Republic's front yard. And it just seems wrong to deny access to a whole sector block.

Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them." -Thomas Marrone

most systems in neutral space.
Seriously.... system doors for KDF are mostly just in KDF space, while FEDs get almost everything else.

Same reason most of the missing doors are missing, cause no one ever added them.
Are there doors in K-7?
K7 and SB39 should be added too then. :P It's odd the way things were chosen to get doors.

The Vault (in Romulan space)
That place is massive and just screams for us Authors to fill it.

KDF can use the exploration clusters only in KDF space.
Feds can use the exploration clusters in all space except KDF Space.
So Klingons needs all exploration clusters outside of Omega Leonis and Pi Canis, while Feds need the Omega Leonis clusters.
