I had this issue once, then it seemed to resolve itself. Now it's back. I log in and after the first Delta Rising page the screen goes black at the character select screen.
I can hear the music and my cursor changes... I've even been able to fumble my way to click where my character should be... a moment later I can hear the in-game sounds of system space but still nothing.
I managed to grab a snapshot of an odd error - can anyone explain this to me?

PS: this 300 second wait time between posts? Bogus... the majority of us aren't children that need to be monitored in such a way. Please focus your attention on the individuals, not the whole.

2. try launching from Steam or Arc to see if it reoccurs. if it loads, try your stand alone again. that should tell you if the stand alone is no longer working as intended
I have... ~sigh~ After COMPLETELY reinstalling the game (10 gb - ouch!) it worked... until I logged off. Came back after a few hours and the issue is back!
I can HEAR the interactions.... I can even hear Kobali Prime when I do manage to somehow fumble my way in... gah!
I have submitted a ticket but am trying to get this resolved asap.
If this helps, my DxDiag text (sorry, it's long)

When you're on the black screen hit the "Enter" key and see if it sounds like your character is logging in (the transporter sound)... if so wait a few moments, see if you get the "loading" splash screen. Then try hitting Alt+Enter to put your game into windowed mode. Some people have better luck in windowed mode than full screen.
That aside you could try updating your video drivers. They're only a few months old but with the recent patch may do the trick.
