Massive amount of LAG!

sanokskyratsanokskyrat Member Posts: 479 Media Corps
edited November 2014 in PC Gameplay Bug Reports
Since the update on Friday morning (Australian time) I've been getting a lot, and i mean a lot of lag.

I've checked my computer ran checks on the systems, turn off my net and reboot it.

Net sped says its good. but i am jumping all over the place or I am not able to do anytime i have a blank screen then for 2 to 3 mins then it goes to a "time out" screen for STO.

What the is going on?:mad::mad::mad:

Also having connection issues. Also from Australia.

Damn thing keeps SERVER NOT RESPONDING, also Login_Error2 (I think thats it) and lag all over the place.

Annoyed me so much this morning I just closed the game after being disconnected 8 times whilst doing Mirror Event.

This angers me. Same problem. Just massive lag and "server not responding". I blame the Epohh King but I also blame Cryptic. I can't login and can't do anything anyway. The game just freezes up and D/C.

It's been shocking and seems to be getting worse. I have a friend who can spend up to an HOUR just trying to log in and he is a gold paying member!

It's not a file issue because I download the entire patch in one go in the launcher rather than on-the-fly.

There is either a routing issue between Cryptic and Australia or the server is a) losing it's mind or b) overloaded.

Diagnostics as at this time though the issue seems to be on and off annoyingly. Mostly in the mornings AEST.

Computer, run a level 2 diagnostic...

Delta Rising? More like 'Anger Rising'. Yes its still lagging and pissing me off. Its not ideal but I do not believe the setup is so sensitive to spit the dummy at 300m/s.

    Hi

I have had the same issue since yesterday - running pingplotter shows a huge amount of packet loss/lag in the congentco servers. Packet loss is so bad the game cant even update my reputation and research que's.

Im thinking its Halloween in the US and they are all watching netflix (also hosted by con gentco).

Its a pain but it needs to be fixed

I share your pain and rage. I got the same issues as in the youtube video. Seems to be affecting Australia only? So do we get any compensation for this madness and not to mention losing out on events? That what 72 hours now at least its been down and cryptic not even acknowledged any problem as yet. Rage... Rage... Rage...

That's exactly what the problem is.

Congentco's 'servers' are overloaded pieces of tripe and the company is too cheap to think about upgrading anything, despite how huge they are.

Cryptic absolutely can not do a single thing about it. It's entirely on that company's end of things.

There is nothing the developers can do.

This is a growing problem as a lot of infrastructure in the US are cheap, old and outdated. The telecommunication companies need to upgrade the infrastructure.

This is ****ing bull****! The evil villian is www.congentco.com so someone should phone them up. "Share the rage". That might help? Those backward amerry cans are still living in the stone age and to think they invented the internet. Yeh right. Pull the other one.

I seem to be dropping packets at the 14th hop:
    14 378ms 19/ 100 = 19% 19/ 100 = 19% 154.54.46.130
Oh and guess who's infrastructure that belongs too?

On the bright side at least its a good publicity of how their network solutions do not work.

Ps Deaftravis05 the developers can role back that stupid ****ing patch from last week is what they can do and stop making the game so data demanding. SMH

I'm sure netflix would disagree, your bandwidth was purchased by them. If netflix streams get laggy cogent 'borrows' some more of yours.

This tires me. Netflix should be down right now in the amurican. You're making invalid excuses. I want my access fixed yesterday damnit. This is just not right. Luckily I have medication for these kinds of occasions.

The simple fact is that nothing has been working since last week and I've tried everything now. I give it another day or two and then press x on the game. Total waste of time it seems.

Seems that I can login now. Will it last? What is the meaning of this new madness? Isn't it funny that as soon as Walking Dead finished on American TV the server lag started to resolve. You Americans - can't you just use separate cable or something.

I have been trying for the last 3 days to run the Mirror Invasion event. The lag is making nearly impossible for me to complete the event. I can do some other things just fine. But the last few days, and today has been the worst, I can't even walk around in station without major lag and "rubber banding" and general freezing. I even got the "server not responding" timer over 60 seconds. This is completely unacceptable. At this rate, there is no way I will be able to complete the even on the characters I want. I only have a limited window of playtime due to work and real life. And this is making me not want to play for a while.

As of 9 November its on again. I'm seeing 10 people from friends list d/c all at once. I get the odd disconnect which makes STF's perilous.

I know this is the work of the Epohh King probably chewing on network cables but its not making for a fun game play experience.
