PC Freeze up while playing STO

Save wasting time, I just put a link from the last time I had this:

http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=1233221

Since then I probably had it happen at least 12 times. Last one 10 minutes ago.

I also made a bug ticket soon as I was able to log back in on the same character in the same spot I was at before STO froze on me. Hope it helps you out with this issue.

i read your linked post...have you ran memtest? hard drive diagnostics you can usually acquire an app from the manufacturer to run one. else it may be in the OS, update or uninstall then reinstall dx9 and dx11 as well as reinstall the c++ runtimes. finally, access the bios monitering page, check voltages. might want to get a system moniter as well so when you run the game it can log voltages and temps at least for the cpu.

any software you installed prior to the first lock up you might want to check, if it's running in the background shut it down and see if that stops the lock ups.

from your specs you should have no problems whatsoever that only leaves something either hardware or software related on your system. since you've done drivers, replaced the card that leaves fewer possibilities.

bad ram, failing PSU, cpu temps, failing hard drive, services/software interfering, corrupted direct x or other runtimes required by sto. software seems less likely considering the failure is intermittent but still a possibility.

oh, and if you overclocked either the card or your cpu reset back to stock to make sure that's not the problem.

Oh, Sorry I forgot to mention that I run a PC business form home.

I gone though all of what has mentioned before I posted.

Though if it was ram or HDD, I would be more getting BSODs or Windows crashing.

You can't uninstall Direct X. I don't think STO would be running on C++ unless a dev tells me otherwise.

I got a 500 watt PSU and OC can lead to having your warranty void, so I don't do it.
