Can't log in to the game or any of the STO/PWE sites...
The launcher says error 17. Firefox goes into a redirect loop. Chrome waits and eventually the site says that they cannot support players from my region.
I'm trying to play from Canada, never had this problem before... Contacted CS days ago, no reply. Posted along with others in tech support forum, no reply.
Would be cool if there was some acknowledgement that there is an issue. Would be cool to check out the expansion...
(And for those wondering, I'm currently logged in via TOR, so it's an IP thing on their end, nothing at all to do with my computer or internet.)
I dont use TOR normally or ever use a VPN. I just happened to have TOR installed on one computer and decided to try it as part of the troubleshooting process.
This problem happens on every computer in the house. There is no VPN set up on the router. Nothing has changed there. And this issue doesnt come up on any other website or service, including things like banks and other high security sites.
There's something wrong at the PWE/Cryptic end, and I've only received one reply several days ago from CS, saying to reboot the router/modem/computer, reset browser settings, etc... form letter. Replied with even more detail about how I did all that and no change, no response.
Googling and looking around it seems like this problem has happened before to various people, with no mention of it ever getting solved. I've no idea why my ip range seems to have gotten banned... I hadnt even logged in for several days before I tried and got the error 17 of doom.
And it's not like people can come and post about it much either, considering that if you got logged out, you cant log back in unless you use a workaround like I am right now... sigh...
FYI to future sufferers, nothing changed on my end. I had to complain at cs to get my issue upped to the pwe networking engineers apparently, and I guess a few weeks later they actually did something about un-banning my ip range.
