i wanted to ask you if someone knows if the Episodes will be playable without beeing near impossible without buying and Upgrade(i have only stock shps.. so afaik nothing to upgrade) and at least right now cant afford a Tier6 Ship if its more than 2000 Zen(what it will be)
i would continue using my Mirror Sovereign until i can afford a Guardian Cruiser
You should be fine for the story episodes. And for Normal-difficulty queues.

It has been stated by Cryptic that they designed the content to be playable in T5 ships, and that they wouldn't be made obsolete. T5U and T6 does provide an advantage, and Elite level queues are going to be designed to challenge even the best geared T6 ships, but the story content should be playable with just a T5.
From what I have been hearing from fleetmates on Tribble you could take your current Fleet ship and equipment and do even the "T6 designed" Elite missions just fine. Assuming your team is half competent of course.

Si, ja, yes, oui, da...

Cryptic already stated that they're gonna come out with Fleet Tier 6 Ships sometime after DR is released... don't waste ur money on upgrading all the ships u want for T5-''F''U since they're gonna be outdated about a few months from now, just buy a Tier 6 ship instead so u can get a discount for the Fleet version when it does comes out.
If u guys want to really upgrade ship to T5-''F''U, upgrade the ships that u gonna use the most as a stop gap.
Edit: for newer mssions T5-''F''U's would still be playable, what i was talking about above was PvP :O

"Sometime after DR is released" doesn't mean a few weeks or months later. I doubt we see Fleet T6 anytime soon. I am willing to bet that we'll get more T6 ships before we even see Fleet T6.
Your pain runs deep.
Let us explore it... together. Each man hides a secret pain. It must be exposed and reckoned with. It must be dragged from the darkness and forced into the light. Share your pain. Share your pain with me... and gain strength from the sharing.
Really? Must have a similarly lacking level of maturity...
The real 'F-U' would have been if Cryptic had completely ignored existing T5 and forced it's entire player base to upgrade to T6, like less scrupled developers would have...
On tribble, I played to level 60 with a T5 ship and the difficulty slider on elite the whole time. It was doable, but I can't really recommend it as an enjoyable experience. The only difference you'll notice is the hull, when a Vaadwaur artillery ship strips all four shields and cuts your hull in half (you can avoid this, but there are times where you face two ships with this attack and just run out of cooldowns).
Normal is a reasonable enough breeze that at one point I pulled out a tier 4 ship and didn't really suffer for it. NPC hull scaling makes battles longer, but the incoming damage doesn't ramp up that badly unless you increase the difficulty.
Edit: Note I'm talking about standard missions and patrols (of which there's a lot in DR), not queue content. Normal/advanced (the current elite) queues are still scaled around level 50, not 60. They made advanced a bit harder by making some optionals into failure conditions, but new tier ships and mk XIII+ gear is still pure power creep for those.

Yeah, that would have been a real "F-U'......for Cryptic.

All of my testing experience on Tribble echo Hevach. I did all the Mission Content on Elite with my Fleet T5 Sovereign, and then redid it again with my free T5 Sovereign using White Mk X Gear, and then redid most of it again with a free T4 Galaxy using hodge-podge Gear.
On Normal and Advanced difficulty you can easily do the new Mission Content with existing T5s using existing Mk X-XII Gear.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.
ok so know i wont have any Problems
and a little disatvantage i can surely compensate..
Im with STO since its Beta.. so i dont want to sound cocky but i know i got some skill and know how to handle myself in battle^^
good to hear... im really looking forward to the Guardian as soon as i can aford it,.. i love this Galaxy/Ambassador cross vibe only in modern she has
but this way i can still start playing the Missions Tueseday(or Wednesday the way i know our Servers ) and keep the Guardian as a thing to look forward to
I won't be upgrading any of mine. So it all depends on what you intend to do with on the game. Only thing I will upgrade is my current gear. Some of which is getting upgraded as we speak from MK X to MK XI or XII.
USS Casinghead NCC 92047 launched 2350
Fleet Admiral Stowe - Dominion War Vet.
On any solo difficulty, and in normal queues, you'll do just fine with a regular T5 ship with Mk XII gear. It won't be the fastest, and you may not have the most fun, but you'll get through everything just fine.
For advanced queues, you'll likely want better gear, but you can probably still make do with old stuff if you're already putting out high DPS.
Haven't tested elite queues yet. Based on dev statements, elite queues are what the high ship/gear tiers are designed for, so I assume that older stuff would be a liability in these. I imagine it won't be too long before people are able to run The Battle of Korfez in standard T5s, though (if they haven't already).
So, the short answer is no, you don't need T5U or T6, not unless you want to be uber.
I haven't tested on Tribble myself, but I doubt the story missions will be that hard.
Just played 'Mindscape' on Tribble. It doesn't seem like they increased foe strength at all. Not one iota. I'm guessing it's just the queue-able missions that will see any increased difficulty.

Enemy scaling is a matter of level, not progress, so in Mindscape nothing is new. By level 55 you'll notice the steeper HP scaling on any difficulty (even going back to pre-DR missions). Damage scaling doesn't seem too different except on elite, and even there it's more a matter of HP when frigates push 200k and battleships are well north of 450.
You won't need T5u nor T6 when DR hits, the same as it is now with low tier ships for current / Pre-DR endgame. Hell, we've had people do Elite STFs in T1 ships or even Shuttles.
I am using T5 with option to make it T5U. I'll take the option to refit another console on it. T6 ships don't reach out to me. They need to make ships like Risan Luxury Cruiser desigh, but larger one with more weapons an etc for T6 Risan Battle Star Ship.
Well with the best gear from Rep System into DR until the New DR Rep System gear can be acquired is the way I going.
Again I'll use my best of what I got into DR that actually does work, along with secondary and backup-gear if I need heavier gear.
That was space talk.
For Ground talk..
Get my Trek-Joe's into gear like heavy troopers with heavier loaded-up ground weapons. I'll use all the ground weapons that are best and actually work well too. Not all do so those I've sold off. Kept what works in my ground testing..
I don't think we'll need a T5U or T6 ship. I do think a lot of people will rush to get one or the other so they can show off. A bad Captain in a T5U or T6 ship is still a bad Captain. The ship and gear may allow someone to get away with something stupid once or twice. But in the end they will revert to type and complain about the new ships just as much as they complain about the ships we have now. Because what they really want is the God Mode ability which Smirk shows on Livestream.

When you notice all these cool new animations on the new ships, you will see what I mean.
Or, I could hang out with someone else who has one of the new ships and go "Oooohhh!" whenever they use the animation.
The animations are really cool. But if they are the only reason I am getting the new ships, then no thanks. My Mogh and Avenger both have an animation which is nice now that it finally works as intended. But the additional armor blinking into place adds nothing to the ship other than making it look good.

Of cause, it will be significantly harder in a lower Tier ship than T6.
im gonna buy a Guardian in 2-3 weeks when i have the cash
but i was afraid of having a too hard time next week...
wouldnt want to wait for my Guardain to play the Missions
thx again!

Like I do with the Valdor-Fleet Mogai, and the Charal andorian escort.

My Gorn flies a Palisade, and so gets an upgrade gratis.
No point not doing it.
My Romulan has an adapted BC.
Again, free upgrade.
As for the Fed side, I do have a toon all ready to go in a Recluse.
But, the ship i really want to go in with is my fleet Defiant.
So, that one will depend on the upgrade costs.
Want? Yes.

Go outside. :P

we need to eat & drink, we need to breath.
after that everything else is optional.
if you asked do we want T5U or T6 Ships?
yes I want them badly.
When I think about everything we've been through together,
maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,
and if that journey takes a little longer,
so we can do something we all believe in,
I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.
