I do not like Geko ether.
With each passing day I wonder if I stepped into an alternate reality. The Cubs win the world series. Donald Trump is President. Britain leaves the EU. STO gets a dedicated PvP season. Engineers are "out of control" in STO.

Once 5 debuffs applied, deals 5731.6 Kinetic Damage (100% Shield Penetration)
Additional Demolition Teams cannot be applied for 12 sec after a successful detonation
Federation
- Intelligent Design: Battle Ready, Emitter Synergy , (Improved) Predictive Algorithms, Reciprocity
[*]Speed Tank - Battle Ready, (Improved) Predictive Algorithms, Pedal to the Metal, ReciprocityWhy: Slotting two copies of Emergency Power to Shields will allow you to trigger Battle Ready, boosting Defense and increasing your chance of being missed. That then helps Reciprocity reduce cooldowns on Tac/Intel powers, that then allows Improved Predictive Algorithms to grant added Accuracy and clear a debuff. At the same time, you gain Exotic Damage and Shield Healing from Emitter Synergy... that then buffs Emergency Power to Shields. Each produces bonuses for the next, well suited to almost any ship.
Also, it's a pun.
Why: With Tac/Intel cooldown improvements every time you're missed, bonus Defense for using powers such as EP2E and A2D, and increased damage simply for maintaining full throttle, this build is going to be obnoxious... and probably all the more effective for it. Definitely a good place for Upgrade System improvements on Energy Signature Dampeners, and anything else that provides additional Defense. All that Defense will let you keep reducing the cooldowns on your Weapon Enhancement abilities, that will then add Accuracy and clear 1 debuff each. Wheeee!!!
[*]Lifeboat - Battle Ready, Emitter Synergy, Partners in Arms, Radiant Nanite Cloud
Why: Each time you toss out an Engi Team or Aux2SIF, your target and everyone nearby will get an additional minor Hull HoT, while you yourself gain Damage Resistance and Defense. At the same time, merely cycling Tac Team (and maybe some free Subsystem Targeting, if you're using a vessel) on yourself will keep buffing your Exotic Damage and Shield Healing for Feedback Pulse, Gravity Well, Science Team, and Transfer Shield Strength. On top of all that, Partners in Arms will further boost your offensive abilities each time you heal or buff an ally. This setup begs for a good Science vessel.
Klingon
Romulan
Why: The short answer... because this thing is almost as squishy as a KDF BoP, it should probably fly like one. Hit hard at high speed and get out the same way, something that Pedal to the Medal and Tactical Retreat combine to make much more successful. Plus... just imagine: Tactical Retreat triggers, you become untargetable for a moment, which you use to trigger GDF and your doffed Ramming Speed (healing might be a good idea too)... suddenly, the squishy little Warbird is punching through enemies in its way while making good its escape.
It sounds fun... and possibly effective. :P
I am sure their will be a bunch from the lockbox.
You know, you could have actually read up on the traits BEFORE posting this. The ones from the ships are in the blogs. The ones we don't know about are the lockbox ones or if there is some sort of mission one.
I did read up on them... I simply wished to make a single reference post that listed what they are and where they come from. I'll add them by faction and Captain Specialization as I go along, and probably update it later once we get the Holodeck versions next week. Why flip through a ton of separate pages when I can just make a combined list?
That's why I saved that spot.
Second that motion.
Defending The Galaxy By Breaking One Starfleet Regulation After The Next.
So in other words... eventually Predictive Algorithms, Improved Predictive Algorithms, Pedal to the Medal, and Demolition Teams, right? I'm almost there, but I'm transcribing descriptions from a review video of the Specializations on Tribble so it'll be a bit longer before I'm done typing out those four that do not stem from the T6 ships. Bear with me.
And of course, we have not idea what Starship Traits will be tied to an Episode or lockbox, if any, when Delta Rising hits... I'll add those next week once we see what they are.
Defending The Galaxy By Breaking One Starfleet Regulation After The Next.
So, if you can look at those Starship Traits and think of any builds that make good use of them, fire away!
Why?
They can't code to differentiate between the sci ships' innate ones and bridge officer off abilities, so they took the easy route and kept it out.
As someone who actually uses target subsystem X 3, which actually shares a CD with the other beam abilities, that was a bad decision. Might as well remove the shared CD and let us FAW tgt subsystems as they're not considered "enhancing abilities" like the others now.
So I think it will be Predictive Algorithms across the board unless they release a T6 ship I want or some other future traits through lockbox or other ways are released.
I kinda like Demolition Teams but Commando looks like ground combat so I'll be avoiding it.
For my science ship though I'll probably look at the Emitter Synergy. More exotic damage is always good.
For my cruiser petal to the medal works probably for a FAW build and most of the damage resist ones will probably be pulled.
klingon and Romulan traits are meh.
The Scryer, Dauntless, and Guardian traits are my favorites for my sci ship, but I'm not sure if I'll ever get them since I'd have to buy the pack for Zen on special.
I'm sorry to people who I, in the past, insulted, annoyed, etc.
Probably worse. Most Aux2Batt setups are there to try and get some offense out of a ship that otherwise lacks that characteristic... high-end DPSers and PvPers tend to simply run better ships that don't actually need it; that allows them to free up 3 doff slots, maintain decent healing, run Aux2SIF or Aux2ID, and make better use of the Tier 4 Nukara Rep Traits. I know your position is that Aux2Batt w/Technicians comes without any cost, and my own experience differs greatly in that respect, but I actually agree entirely as far as Reciprocity. It has absolutely no downside, but rather rewards you for not taking damage in the first place. Even better, if there is a gap between Reciprocity and your global cooldowns, you can probably close that with the Delta Rep console (7%), MACO 2-piece (5%), and the Xindi-Reptilian boff (5%).
Reciprocity makes me think the devs are secretly enamored with Aux2Batt builds, they just want to be able to heal themselves properly at the same time... on a Federation character of course. :P
Thank you for this comprehensive list!
If anything, I'll be getting a Dauntless, or a Vaadwaur (sp?) lockbox ship, so I'll be using what goes with that.
I dont think you can use it somewhere else... the ship traits are tied to the ship. it's how well you mastered that particular ship.
Feds get 5 ships... so if you level up and max'd out the intel escort... and you switch to the guardian... you cant slot the escort skill cause your not in the intel escort anymore. And vice versa.
Indeed you can. Starship Traits are character unlocks, that go in one of 4 Starship Trait slots your captain has. Mastery Levels 1-4 are tied directly to that specific ship (not even ship class, that specific ship) so don't dismiss one you've leveled unless you don't plan on flying it again... you'd have to re-level it. Mastery Level 5 is also tied to that particular ship, but rather than granting any bonus to the ship, it unlocks a Starship Trait on the captain flying it.
The Starship Traits your character unlocks via either Mastery Level 5 on a T6 ship or via the Captain Specializations will remain available on any ship that captain flies, so long as they have them slotted. They may come from various sources, but they are unlocked on your captain rather than the ship. Theoretically, you could use your Starship Traits on a Miranda if you really felt like it, since they are part of the captain not the ship.
That's part of why tying Starship Trait unlocks to T6 ships screws the KDF and Rom players... they have less T6 ships, which means less Starship Trait options, which means less build options, which means... well, you get the idea. :P
On the plus side, the Mat'Ha's Starship Trait could be useful for making some interesting Science and pseudo-Science builds, though until we have more detailed info on how the Qib's Starship Trait works we have no idea whether that would be worthwhile or merely redundant to the Pilot Specialization. Both of the Romulan Starship Traits could be very nice indeed for getting out alive, especially combined with each other, but if I do go that route I will probably be singing "Bravest of the brave, Sir Romulan!" every time I do that... even if it does mean you can come back fully healed and ready to go.
Predictive Algorithms, which gives an accuracy boost when you use Beam: Fire at Will, DOES NEXT TO NOTHING when actually USING BFAW due to a very long standing bug (BFAW's attacks can't turn overflow Accuracy into CritHit/CritDamage due to how the power has been redesigned).
So unless your accuracy really sucks to begin with, it's a real waste of a trait (unless they fix the bug).

I fully expect cross-faction ship traits to be a future lockbox staple, though.
So, Emitter Synergy, Tac Team, Subsystem Targeting, APO... and a nicely buffed Gravity Well benefitting from both the APO and Emitter Synergy? Or maybe Overwhelming Force, Gravity Well, then B:O and T:HY when they're nicely clumped together?
Oooh, or maybe Tactical Retreat, GDF and a doffed Ramming Speed... that could be funny. Do that one.
Didnt put to much thought in this, but I dont think ppl will bother too much with those starship traits unlocks. Sure, if it comes with a ship you fly its all good. But to play on another ship you may not like it, to unlock a trait?? Yeah... not many ppl will be bothered with that. It kinda sucks that even if you do own the ship, you dont have acces to it's special trait unless you lvl the ship. Thats bad design and it doesnt encouraging ppl to buy extra ships for their traits... if you actually have to unlock them by playing/lvling those ships...
Comparing this a bit with lock/box pair ships, its like having to play and unluck the use of a console from another ship that has a 2 pc set bonus with the ship's console you are curently flying. Its ridiculous.
Whatever I can get without paying $30 to have the opportunity to grind for.
If they do not offer a ton of 'basic' options free of charge and release the starship traits at the same pace as they have captain traits outside of lockboxes I will strongly dislike the entire concept. I also have a feeling they might tie the 'free' traits to rank 20 crafting which would be terrible.
That is one of the few things I'm glad have been left in the game.
