Why is the Guardian cruiser such a well kept secret?

That thing has more black ink over it then the top-secret intelligence ships combined.
Which is a shame, because the Guardian seems like the only ship to actually be worth looking into because of it's more traditional(not ugly) design and lack of a pansy-device(cloak).

    There is still a month to go. its probably not quite finished and even if it was they dont want to overwhelm people with too much information and leave nothing left to talk about. the new intelligence ships and boffs are the new shiny thing and they want to get that information out first.

    not quite finished? and this is the team that pat themselves on the back last year priding themselves on completing their projects on schedule and on timetable for when details and such are to be released. no, its more likely that they are waiting on their own timetable to release the information of that cruiser. in any event is the concept art is anything to go by, the nacelle configuration is fugly, i may have already mentioned that on other threads a few times, but seriously, place the nacelles a bit higher up on a pylon angle.

    The Guardian is hideous. It's based on that crappy alternate Ambassador, which is mistake #1. It tries for a Galaxy-style look, which isn't necessarily a bad idea, but it relies heavily on design conventions that work better on sleeker ships, like the narrower saucer and long nacelles, so it winds up looking bizarre.

    I actually like the T6 stealth ships more than that horrid beast they're calling the Guardian.

    I specifically said there is a still a month to go. Even if they finish it one day before it goes live, then its still on schedule as far as we are concerned, is it not?

    What does anything they said last year have to do with right now. Does a generic statement about being on schedule mean that every last thing is finished well ahead of release for all future content? the delayed voth battlezone, the secondary deflector dishes would seem to suggest that delays still happen.

    And i already pointed out the other reason. i then said that even if it is finished, they dont want to to release everything in one go. or it could even be a combination of both reasons.

    month or not, its likely already finished like the rest of x2, they are likely onto another project, probably season 10.5 or season 11 by now, early drawing board stuff with a winter ship on the side for the event in a few months.

    they wouldnt deliberately leave this to the last minute or its likely to cause mistakes and issues because it wasnt internally tested before it hit the deck.

    Really? Delta Rising is already completely finished and they're already working on the next project... Really?

    I guess they're incrementally releasing bits and pieces onto Tribble for players to test and provide feedback on just for ****s and giggles, huh? It would also be why they've not released all the C-Store stuff yet, otherwise we'd all be handing over our wallets for the shiny new toys...

    I'm really not sure if you're being sarcastic, trolling, or if you truly believe this as this is one of the most ridiculous statements on these forums recently...

    they already got their line out ready for tribble, just testing because its according to plan i would imagine, its all there. im not sure if your being equally sarcastic or trolling.:P

    That's why there are still some significant UI features missing or incomplete... Undoubtedly the bulk of Delta Rising is done, but there would still be alot of content that needs final polish at the very least... The latest live stream even uses place-holder animations for certain enemies...

    To say that it's complete and that Cryptic are just stalling in it's release is absolutely beyond silly...
    The entitlement is strong in these forums...

    i never stated it was complete, i stated they are ready according to their timetable. so assume what you like, thats not my concern.

    Yeah they release on time, they just don't release it finished then leave it hanging for years

    People start complaining about an issue, well we got too many damned issuse to fix so there is no time!!!1

    ps. for example I waited 18 months for them to unblock the ground sets from stf when they released s. 7
    and I am the resentful, bitter, pitiful type so I didn't play for 18 months just kept posting on that one bug till they finally gave up and put in work.

    Save 60% time getting your ground sets with reputations!!!

    As far as being on time, living up to schedules, not making mistakes and what not, I don't think anyone should be parading around on a pig swinging hat in hand, leave it at that shall we

    Ready or not, they are not going to reveal everything at once and rightfully so. It would be way too much for us to handle, all that info at once and it would also be poor marketing. Just have some patience.

    There is the tiny issue, that they are already trying to sell the Guardian, without even telling us what the ship will be able to do. Imagine if General Motors tried that.

    Now with the new blog about ship designs I had one thought about this:

    Maybe they try to sell the not so popular designs in the first wave, then sell the good stuff later. The Guardian looks better then the actual T6 designs also they posted another artwork sketch of ships that look more similar to the current T5 designs then the T6 designs are...

    Can be marketing or just a weird thought of me :P

    "Good stuff" is a subjective term. For example, I love the look of the Phantom and Scryer. I cannot wait to get my hands on both of them. :)
    STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

    Delta Rising was said to be a staggered release throughout the end of the year. All that's been introduced to this point are what have been presumed to come in the first wave of major updates.

    Just. Stop. They haven't even mentioned if they will give you one or not. Even so, whats the big deal about it? There are plenty of comparable ships out there. Take the Assault Cruiser for example, a Typhoon will probably be the exact same ship layout. That's just what this game needs, another A2B FAW boat. it'll be more of the same.

    They will be ready by October 14, that's plenty of time to do the final workings. They just finished up one of the last, if not the last, voiceover recording sessions. Since that stuff isn't on tribble yet, it seems to not quite be ready. Soon enough! I'm psyched for the finished product.
