I don't see anybody breaking the rules, do you?

    Yes... Massively derailed thread...
Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...
Let me put the rumors to rest: it's definitely still the C-Store (Cryptic Store) It just takes ZEN.

And personal attacks. And, I don't think the subject matter of the derail actually follows the posting guidelines.

Actually, no. I think it's a lame, sad excuse that any male playing this game would have to make a character with a sexy posterior so they have something to look at which gives them a cheap thrill. Go look at TRIBBLE instead, or if you insist on playing while your interest wanes, at least try and be creative enough to make a Joker 'toon or a Homer Simpson look alike if you are all that bored. I could not care less what gender anyone makes their captain, just don't make her look like she's had photon torpedoes implanted in her chest, or is a photonic prostitute on the loose from a holo suite. It's completely pathetic & juvenile. It's easy enough to outfit your captains so they look appropriate to the environment, which is all I was saying in the first place.

I'm quite offended by this. None of my thrills classify as "cheap."

Just for giggles, did someone actually say they made their character based on a photonic prostitute or did you make that up? Also why is looking at TRIBBLE instead more dignified then making a fictional character to ogle? I have to admit I have an Orion slave girl, but it gets boring fast, but I think its hilarious when I go running bikini mode with my bikini bofs in the Dyson ground zone and people just stop dead in their tracks like they just saw a movie star come through firing a AP minigun.

Some of the posters in this thread obviously don't know about the game's wonderful ignore feature.

And have very thin skins.

I was just in a PvP zone when a player from another zone announced in chat "welcome to the **** club, whos first?" Poor punctuation aside, I've reported the offender, and would like to encourage all of my fellow gamers to do the same when they see this kind of behavior. I'm not opposed to a bit of trash talk, but there's no room in this community for such blatantly sexist language.

PvP is not the only place you will find inappropriate and offensive, nay downright abhorent talk in this game.

Anytime I beam onto Spacedock, first thing I do is close down chat. It's disgusting most of the time, and hardly discussion befitting a Starfleet officer.

lol @ the assumption that a gender-unknown random PvPer's use of the word **** against a group of people whose genders they could not have known is immediately misogynistic.

See, here in the real world, we have this thing called "hyperbole". It's basically a statement that is exaggerated and not to be taken literally. Often times it's used in things called "jokes", which further comes in numerous flavors, like "juvenile" and "crass", which is what the example OP is citing would fall under.

Now obviously the PvPer in question is not going to **** anyone, so immediately we see it's hyperbole. Further, based on the phrasing, it's clear it was intended as a joke of the lowbrow variety. And since no sex was specified by either party, we can throw out misogyny as a possible factor.

Unless you can point me to a Twitter profile or Facebook page belonging to the PvPer in question that shows a history of actual misogyny, then we can basically throw out OP's entire complaint as baseless and a waste of all our time.

Seriously? We needed a 24 page thread to discuss something that should have been handled by ignoring, reporting to GM and/or opening a ticket with CS?

    Yes, it's wrong.

Yes, it's PvP. Trash talk of varying degrees of coarseness is not, unfortunately, a surprising event.

Yes, there are still people who disrespect other people for many reasons. Prejudice is not dead. Again, sad but not surprising. It is against the ToS, so appealing to customer service using the official channels is the right way to go.

Starting a thread about it is just going to cause problems here. I appreciate the righteous indignation behind it, but I'm going to have to shut this down.
