My rom can do both but I've only done the rom one. Should I be doing both?
If you want to craft and don't want to buy the blue doffs, and you don't have any of the right kind of specialist doffs for the projects you want to run... Then you might want to do both. It mostly gives materials so to get the doff you want you will need to run it multiple times.

IMO, the big reason to run it is the materials and components it gives. You can get any of the VR materials and components for just 1k dil per try, which considering that you don't need to farm up the materials if you're getting the components this way, can add up to be a decent bargain.
Even if you're not big into crafting, it can be worth a shot: the VR components run fairly high on the Exchange as well, particularly for Isolinear Chips (used in the omni-directional beam arrays) and Particle Alignment Matrices (used for the TR-116)
