Severe lag / Server Not Responding - Virgin Media

Hi guys, a few nights ago, for no reason whatsoever, I started getting the worst lag issues imaginable.
To the level that there is at least a 15 second delay between input and result on screen.

I'm hardwired in, so it's not a wireless issue.
The router has been restarted.

I've done a few tests, and speed and ping wise, everything is fine.
Tracert and nettest results below, as is a screen cap from Virgins status checking page.

After buggering around with my Firewall (actually disabling it, rather than just having exceptions configured) here is my new Trace Route.

The 'Trace Route' appears to indicate that ICMP is being blocked by your Gateway/Modem. If a Reboot/Power Cycle of this does not improve the 'Trace Route' results, then you have no other choice then to go to your ISP Tech Support and request their help in diagnosing your connection issue...

I'm also on VM and also have lag problems.

I've posted in a similar thread also but wanted to report in here too.

VM are having major problems with their networks at the moment, I found out after doing a little digging. Mostly to do with some Youtube videos failing to buffer.

Since I've never had any lag problems before and I've always been with VM I cant help but think these issues are related.

Hi, i've had similar problems to this previously [see here] but i'm not sure if it's the same problem.

what I can say, is i'm getting lots of lag and SNRs again, and changed to the EU proxy again, and it seems fine. but i haven't had time to try this out for long.

    Updated OP.
Could be that my AV/Firewall has been causing issues all of a sudden.

    EDIT

Seems fine at the moment, no lag whatsoever since disabling my Bitdefender's Firewall.
I will test again at the same time I had lag yesterday, for the sake of accuracy.

Since your 'Trace Route' is now working, what we really need is the 'Path Ping' results...

Also, have you tried using the Euro Proxy settings in the launcher Options Menu ???

    OP updated with PathPing information.

I've not tried changing the Euro Proxy settings as of yet...

Change to EU Proxy, no difference. :(

OK, Hop #1 is the Router connected to your computer...

Hop #2 is your Modem/Gateway which 'Path Ping' reports having a 97% Packet loss....

Now if it was 100%, then that could be a false positive, but 97% means that this is a real packet drop measurement, and bad enough to make all other indications of dropped packets after this unreliable...

If a Reboot/Power Cycle of your Modem/Gateway does not improve the condition, then its time to call your ISP Tech Support and have them send someone out to take a look at the unit...

Have done a power cycle this morning, and still have 94% loss on Hop 2.
Going to phone Virgin to see what they say.

    Updated OP.

TLDR; Defo a problem with the Modem / Router.
    - Going to contact Virgin - again.

    EDIT:

Contacted Virgin, speaking to 2nd line.
At first told they use this site: http://www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com/ - which returned:
''It's not just you! http://patchserver.crypticstudios.com looks down from here.'
    - Source

However, as we can ping the server fine -AND- the whole community hasn't caused an uproar saying they're unable to connect. We know this is wrong. . .

They've raised a ticket, and have told me 5-7 days for a solution.

Will post again with the outcome when I have it.
