Putting aside the catastrophic topic of T5 vs T5-U vs T6 vs Non-Starfleet looking ships...
What is your biggest fear about the upcoming expansion?
My biggest fear is:
We'll get to the Delta Quadrant. There will be about 5-8 nice missions in a story arc (Like Wasteland, Breen Invasion, etc.) and then we'll be done, except for raids.
I guess my fear is not truly being able to "explore" the Delta Quadrant and make it a real destination to park a ship and crew for a year or what have you.
So, what is your big fear?
"You shoot him, I shoot you, I leave both your bodies here and go out for a late night snack.
I'm thinking maybe pancakes." ~ John Casey
when has the lack of story missions been confirmed? where is that quote? they said the expansion is equal in size to LOR and that they are now focusing on story missions. so even if some are battlezones and queues there should still be substantial story.
That I might choke on a matzo-ball before getting to play any of it.
And I don't even like Matzo-balls.

Story missions wont be playable until DR goes live on holodeck.
I've known fear. It’s a very healthy thing most of the time. You warn us of danger, remind us of our limits, protect us from carelessness. I've learned to trust fear.

Fear isn't the right word. More like frustrated expectation and wishing it wasn't. That the expansion will be a few missions that are decent but not especially replayable for different characters, and then will otherwise by a bunch of raid garbage where the solution is always 'bring bigger guns and more AOE.' I'd love something more towards intellectualism and elegance where my weapons are irrelevant, but I fear we'll see more of the same.
Edit
Its not that the whole game is always this way. They've shown flashes of brilliance and beauty from time to time. I think of missions like Mind Games or Cold Comfort or Temporal Ambassador, or the seasonal events (Risa is just such a wonderful environment), are some of my favorites and get so immersive. Or The 2800 series, where yes there is lots of combat, but its combat with purpose and direction to give it an epic feel rather than the usual "fly around this system, destroy 5 clusters of mobs.' Less gamification more storytelling.
Right now, nothing really. As for ships I'm attached to, and I'm still not able to fully understand what the deal is going to be with T5's being upgraded just yet compared to T6's, I only truly am attached to the scimitar and I know it'll hold it's own no matter what and likely will get a brand new line based off it I bet at some point.
I just hope for some good story advancement right now and a little more light on the Iconians after that display from the last mission we had. I still will be surprised if we get to take a shot at one within a year from now though.
- NPCs that toss out tons of extremely annoying debuffs/cc effects that can only be cleared via Intelligence Team.
- Poor rewards combined with a gutting of existing game play rewards. I think it is pretty clear that the payout of exisiting borg stfs are much higher than Cryptic wants especially when you consider just how rewarding most of the recently released content is.
- Fleet T6. Six months after upgrading existing ships to T5-FU quality and buying a few T6 ships having that extra $5 module if you want to keep your T6 as top tier combined with the true death of T5.
Time will tell. I thinks at least one will be correct.
Cryptic does alright for story (castrating the Romulans notwithstanding) so there's nothing much to worry about there.
Cryptic is absolutely horrible at systems design (original DOFF system nothwithstanding) so, as usual, it's all about seeing if their changes are tolerable enough to continue playing or not.
I fear nothing especially stupid video game changes, I'm just concern a new paint job on the other TNG hero ships are not on their radar.
The Defiant Class , Galaxy class, and Sovereign class ships are looking mighty cartoony next to the Ambassador, and soon to be retextured Intrepid.
This, actually.
I don't expect much from Cryptic's story writing or the content, everything been there, canon has been butchered by the very principles of the game, so what, what can happen.
But the lack of treatment the canon visuals in this game get is worrying me. I don't care wether the ships will be "competetive" or what have you, but I'd like for them to finally revamp those skins and models, make them look good. That would make me happier.
^ Memory Alpha.org is not canon. It's a open wiki with arbitrary rules. Only what can be cited from an episode is. ^

That it won't be in a stable, playable state(as not having horrible bugs like bridge seats wipe every zone transition, etc.) for several months after release.
Legacy of Romulus had tribble testing for 3 or so odd months and it still had many issues that took a good while to hammer out. Delta Rising.. (considering it's getting even less testers due to the gold member restriction) is getting even less public/mass testing in. Furthermore, a little birdy told me they've been so feverishly trying to play catch up with what was promised that one of the coders actually fell asleep at their computer - mid-line.
That most missions are single player missions (1st new mission is), i can't understand that most of the last missions are single player, don't they understand that i like to play with friends/fleet-mates .. its a mmo !!!
It may sound petty, but it's the fear of them adding some silly mechanic, which will make close combat/melee not viable. As close combat is what makes ground combat very fun for me, and I'd hate that to not be viable.
That & no proper ground combat missions.

And lack of story missions.
Both have more or less been confirmed so...

As for fear, I have none.
See what I did there?
Then she killed it. Classic Janeway.
