I have had a problem with Steam for a while now.... It was fine before, i'd use steam or arc, saw no big difference, but since I have many more steam cards in my area than PWE, it helped more. Then, my computer had to restore due to a virus my sister put on it... so I redownloaded Steam, logged in, downloaded STO.... but it wouldn't start. All I would get is a "Failed to start game (missing executable)" thing. I went to Steam's recommend blah dey blah stuff, tried all of it, still getting it. So what now. I went to the sto file in steam.... in it's friggin empty.... how do I refill it? Or is it supposed to be like that? (i'm guessing it's not)
The boss being a gigantic Winter Epohh Researcher. As you lay waste to the Epohh Horde, she can occasionally cry out things like, "Didn't you want an Epohh friend?"
That's quite the paradox, how could you nerf nerf when the nerf is nerfed. But how would the nerf be nerfed when the nerf is nerfed? This allows the nerf not to be nerfed since the nerf is nerfed? But if the nerf isn't nerfed, it could still nerf nerfs. But as soon as the nerf is nerfed, the nerf power is lost. So paradoxally it the nerf nerf lost its nerf, while it's still nerfed, which cannot be because the nerf was unable to nerf.

Those fishies, haha. Anyhow... It *might* work, it might not. This was the thread I was talking about. Metritutus solved his problem by renaming the Steam dir altogether.
On the other hand, you might have to take a look at your OS's Event Viewer (run => eventvwr) to find the complete error message.
By the way, do you run W7 or W8? If so, limited directory authorisations might be the problem. Try to run Steam as administrator (rightmouse click on steam icon => run as administrator) and try again.
I'm just guessing here, so another thing I just thought of was that if you have a 64-bit OS, Steam might be looking to C:\Program Files\ instead of C:\Program Files (X86)\ (<= where STO possibly resides).
^^These are just some wild guesses,. but it's better then nothing, right?
