BOffs on Bridges...

I'm pretty sure that someone did an experiment on this some time back, but I can't recall the results...

Does anyone know how many BOffs it takes having in a character's roster before the game will use them all instead of putting NPCs on a bridge?

    *Shakes his head*

Okay, I admit I'm not a programmer, but one would think there'd be something in there that tells the game to fill stations from your BOff list first, then NPCs for any unfilled stations. I guess that falls under 'Increased Interior Functionality' and they'll get to fixing it 'Soon'...

I can say from personal experience that only 2-3 of my officers get put onto my bridges. I counted, and each of my characters have anywhere from 8-10 officers on their Active roster. But whenever I beam onto my bridge, only 2-3 of them will ever show up on the bridge. The rest are all random NPCs. This is the same on Starfleet AND on KDF. How many officers you currently have does not matter. You will never see more than 2-3 on your bridge.
I completed a 2-man CSE, ISE, and KASE, Optionals included. And I soloed Winter Invasion.

It's somewhat random, really. I just went through all 12 characters and most were 3-4 of my boffs, with a couple of random NPCs. The Belfast bridge had 3 actual boffs and 2 NPCs. Origin Bridges were both 4:2, Regular Romulan bridges were 4:2 and 5:1, Scimitar bridges were 4:2 and all 6 regular boffs. Standard KDF Raptor bridge was 3:3, Bortasqu' gigantic bridge had 2 boffs and 6 or so random NPCs, Dyson Destroyers, which only have 3 stations manned, were 2;1 and 2 with all 3 actual boffs. I couldn't tell you why some had more and some had less, and that Bortasqu' bridge having so few actual boffs, with so many NPCs was crazy, and that thing could easily fit 14 boffs with all of the stations it has.
This is an MMO, not a Star Trek episode simulator. That would make for a terrible game.

The way we can manually choose which officer goes into which slot for our ship, we also need a mechanic where we can manually place our officers onto the Bridge. Or at the very least, place the 5 officers you have on your Space Crew.

I am one of those people who has a separate group specialized for Space Crew, and a separate group specialized for Away Team. I don't mind if my Away Team officers are never on the bridge, because I never intended that for them anyway. I deliberately chose all ground traits, so they are useless for Space Crew anyway. But the guys I deliberately chose for my Space Crew should be on the Bridge. No exceptions.

On my main, I have a similar setup, though I'm not terribly picky about the Ground traits for away team members. She has 22 boffs, with a number of Saurians and a couple of Liberated Borg for Efficient trait, selected back when that was the Space trait to have for Starfleet characters. I actually have a couple of spares for both Space and Ground for different ship and away setups, and none of them are the First Officer or Department Heads, since I always found the tendency in Star Trek that every single important person on the ship would go on the often-dangerous away missions to be a tad insane.

I'd also love it if the ones selected for away team duty never appeared on the bridge for her, so I could put them all in Odyssey Tactical, and use that for her as well, for away missions, and still keep the bridge crew in standard Odyssey to match the rest of the NPCs on the ship.

Dont worry about it. It is a known bug persistent since ages ago that was never fixed (and i am afraid it never will). Bridges are really abandoned, and cryptic never bothered to fix things in em. Lets hope with the Voyager's coming, they pay more atention now to our ship bridges and our boffs. I NEVER had all my bridge boff stations ocupied by my boffs.

P., indalef, any special reason you need to write with orange letters?? because it doesnt look good, honestly.

If you run missions with a full away team, all of those boffs will appear on your bridge. If you don't, usually only your first officer is there.

Prior to Season 8, I used to always have all my bridge spots manned by my BOFFs. Now, it is usually only BOFFs on my Away Team that show up.

This issue was brought up to Geko @ STLV and he said he would look into it. I know it has been discussed in many threads here on the forums, but he seemed to not know of the issue. Tells us how often these problems get reported to the Devs.
