You really need a better argument besides "PVE Hero."
Besides, I play both PVP an PVE.
Ah i see you have joined the 1% of STO that plays PvP (According to various PVE'ers accoounts). Welcome to the dark side of the Star Trek Online Universe.

I already complete PVE with ease. It's a rolfstomp no matter what.
The point of this thread is to highlight the fact that the rift cannot be countered. The only circumstance that it could be affected is if the target is subject to warp plasma. But then again a team of 5 using the console will not be affected by the occasional use of warp plasma.
Which is precisely why it needs a change so that the likes of tractor beam etc, are able to disable the use of the rift when active.

Perhaps we should get counters to the more serious issues first. Such as being able to one-shot someone with a lunge on ground, or kill a ship in mere seconds via alpha strikes, and so on.
no, that's called a 'laws of physics' argument, which cannot be ignored even in video games
Yes, because opening a singularity to another dimension, flying through said singularity in a split-second without destroying yourself, then having inertia and mass be completely ignored to where you can turn on a dime while going a billion KPH is completely in line with the laws of physics.

Quit trying to derail this thread. If you want to talk about completely separate issues, make a different thread about said topic. This thread is not about everything-under-the-sun that is wrong with this game. It is about one thing- the Fluidic Phase console.

Compare the playerbase of ground PvP, and then reference that to the player base of space PvP.
As you may see, one has a significantly higher player base, and by cryptic knowledge, this would suggest that the favourable option should be focused on.
Unfortunately in reality this applies to neither, Cryptic just want to satisfy the PvE heroes, and keep consoles such as the ones in question the same, so that players are able to escape borg and feel like a kirk.

point; i did momentarily forget that star trek itself usually threw the laws of physics out the door pretty much every episode
i still like my idea better, though - make it a significant risk to use the console if your ship is currently being held, especially if already damaged
A normie goes "Oh, what's this?"
An otaku goes "UwU, what's this?"
A furry goes "OwO, what's this?"
A werewolf goes "Awoo, what's this?"
"It's nothing personal, I just don't feel like I've gotten to know a person until I've sniffed their crotch." "We said 'no' to Mr. Curiosity. We're not home. Curiosity is not welcome, it is not to be invited in. Curiosity...is bad. It gets you in trouble, it gets you killed, and more importantly...it makes you poor!"
Passion and Serenity are one.

Not a derailment. I am simply posting my opinion on how I feel they are far more serious issues than this console.
Simple solution: Let the console set your speed to a fixed value (you are technically travelling through fluidic space which would hinder your movment; and some other science bs that could explain why you cannot exceed this speed threshold) that can't be influenced by other buffs.
Evasive, EPtE, etc. ...
The cloaking component wouldn't matter too much, because you could still follow the target with you own Evasive+EPtE+[Omega]. It would very much work like the Impulse C. Cell, but with other restrictions. It should have lower Speed Bonus then ICC, but you could still move more freely and would be out of danger for some time at least.
The stealth duration could also be slightly lowered, so if you exit the rift you'd still be sped up but not untargetable anymore due to a perfect cloak.
PVE HEROS demoralise me, bored of that they dont know od that they are talking
lol.. man, you keep burying yourself deeper and deeper.. you think because you pvp, and think your the best at it, that somehow, you know the game better than anyone else..
guys, this is how he operates.. he loves tension and drama.. that's all it was in hobo.. wasn't a day that went by that he didn't make some ridiculous fleet mail crying about a dental guy, or threatening us that if we wore a certain uniforms or gear that we would be kicked from the fleet. lol..
this post was never about how op a console was, it was his attempt to be able to back hand compliment himself and try to feel important.. feeding into it just makes everyones heads hurt more..
pve, has effectively been ruined by the so called "hero pvp'ers" of the game.. everytime a console is released, the pvp community get their panties up in a bunch, and suddenly the nerf bat comes flying out..
like I said, pvpers need to learn to suck it up, and deal with it.. if something is op, find a way to counter it.. don't be lazy and cry that your aux2bat build isn't usefull anymore.. or that your team has to change something because of a console.. god.....

Im not overally against this console, if its a case of console swapping then thats another issue, placate is gone which was far worse and this has to take up a console slot...can we get rid of black poo though?
I have to agree that there is an issue with this console. It's fast growing popularity should only prove that it's OP (due to lack of counter). Anything that suddenly starts showing up on every pvp build usually does so because it's broken and everyone wants to get in on the brokenness before it gets the needed adjustment. This console has become the primary means of defense for certain fleets/teams running in the queues lately. I share in the annoyance that some matches are lasting much longer than they ever would because of this console alone.
What is wrong with it, just adapt :P (just following forum rhetoric here)
What needs a nerf is fireworks in battle, obnoxious and inflammatory sure fine in sector space or hanging outside ESD but in battle instances it should not be usable !
People using them in battle are only using them to upset/anger/irritate their opponents and because they are sociopath's !
Sounds more like an "I CANT WIN ALL THE TIME" moan thread.

The fact that you bring up fireworks in battle like this will only serve to encourage those who do it, because you're proving it works. It's a distraction meant to get you looking at the fireworks instead and to do irrational things out of anger. So, WAI. Interesting you tell people to adapt to the console (which actually affects gameplay), while demand fireworks be disabled (even though they have zero impact on gameplay), you know, instead of also adapting to them. Thanks for inserting the double standard/hypocrisy!
Finally, the OP does win almost all the time, as he stated and most of the PvP community knows first hand. His point was it's another get out of jail free card that only prolongs matches because players have a lot of similar tricks in the bag, and this one has absolutely no counter.
Pretty simple. It couldn't be activated while using Sensor Analysis, which also prevents cloaking for the user.
Slight diversion here: I still think you got this backwards. Cloaking should disable SA, just like it does with all other abilities. I assume you did it this way because its a cheap way to fix/prevent other issues but really exceptions are bad for evrybody involved.

Well uh...
...you even quoted it in your reply.
Doesn't matter in the end, cause the thread got trolled/derailed into oblivion anyway....meh.
Just use a gravity well and it will make it almost impossible to get hit with torps.
I haven't gotten nailed with one since I started slotting GW on my Scis.
Invsi-torps are often normal ones, not the heavies you can destroy.
How can you tell if they're "invis-torps".
Ask anyone, those moments you got hit with spike damage yet you were well out of range or there was no visible Borg beam or heavy torp in sight.
Those are the ones I'm talking about. GWs stop them cold. I can literally face camp a Cube and never get hit with a torp.
The only time I get hit is when I don't bring a ship with GW.

It is simply a console with a 6sec escape plan, it isn't anything that cannot be dealt with.

Take this TRIBBLE to the PvP subforum, where it will be quickly investigated and handled, unlike other genuine problems in the game...
LMAO! What game have you been playing? It obviously isn't STO.
