JHAS: anyone going to try?

Since I didn't see a 'discuss this in the forum'-button, I'll post it here.

Will anyone actually try to get a Jem'Hadar Attack Ship? Knowing that it soon may or may not (not knowing anything in fact) be obsolete?

    Isn't it pretty much obsolete already?

    Like, not "unusable" obsolete, but I don't think it's still the premier DPS-dealer that it once was.

    Looks like this is their final attempt to extract as much money as possible from existing T5 ships before they release info about T6 and laugh at everyone who was silly enough to waste hundreds of dollars gambling on an obsolete ship.

    This is getting worse by the day... Absolutely disgusting...

    The lockbox ships and lobi ships will be competitive once DR hits, I am positive of it, its too much a part of the business model for STO.

    I have an idea for what Season 11 should be; Season 11: The Big Bug Fix.
    I have not been able to read my bug tickets in over a year, not even the tickets about not being able to see my tickets.

    Neither. Save your money for T6 or to upgrade your favorite ships to ~T6.

    I already have a JHAS. I absolutely love it and it's one of the ships I use the most. Soon obsolete or not, it's a cracking ship.

    I'm not buying any new ships until I see what the T6 will be like and how much of a difference the T5.5 upgraded ones will be to the true T6 ones, I know the new ones will have new powers

    I have a Vorta toon with every other Jem'Hadar ship, who normally flies the Dreadnought.

    Making the Attack Ship pets gated on owning the flyable JHAS ticks me off to no end. I'm talking table-flipping nerdrage.

    But damned if I don't still want it.

    I was hoping for the Bulwark during the last promo... but, I sold a chunk of the DOFF packs for EC, and got enough Lobi for my JHDC. I think I used the EC to get both a Rommy Lib Borg & Photonic Tac BOFF.

    I made out okay. :) Great way to get Lobi.

    I've gotten a few JHAS and Bulwarks out of the last few promotions. But the main reason I do the promotions is the fact I need duty officers for the fleet upgrade projects, and I don't mind breaking them down into commons.

    The lobi is just a nice incentive, and if I get a few ships out of it, hey, I won't complain.

    But the ships alone should never be the reason anyone with some common sense should participate in these lotteries.

    Given that these days there are 4 other escorts competitive with the JHAS (FPER, and the Xindi, Undine, and Hirogen escorts), and you could buy all of them combined for less than what one JHAS costs, not really worth the investment anymore. Then you add in the T6 stuff right around the corner, and it just really becomes a vanity thing (unless you REALLY want the pets).

    I probably will convert dil to zen for this promotion.

    Not rabidly, but some.

    As Iconians says, its a neat source of extra lobi.

    Which is always useful and, I'd suggest, worth stocking up on just in case it is involved in any upcoming upgrade process.

    Perhaps prudent to stock a bit up.

    The ships are an added bonus and if I do get the JHAS I'll be able to make a fleet mate of mine very happy (for a heavily discounted fee, of course)

    I've already got one, but I decided to open a couple packs cause hey, if I got another one I could sell it and be set for life (in ec anyway). Opened four, no dice. Ain't no thang :cool:

    If Exchange sales are any indication, the Survivor Packs used to go for 7-9 Million EC during JHAS Promos before. In the first 2 hours of this promo, they are below 2Million. Which incidentally, is cheaper than a Lockbox key on the Exchange (2.75Million).

    Exactly this. You have to buy the Doff Pack from Cryptic for the special box to drop into your inventory. Exchange Doff Packs offer nothing other then what is in the Pack. The fact that they are going for 2 million EC is incredibly stupid by itself. :)
    STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

    Of all the existing ships Cryptic commits to keeping competitive, the ships they enticed (and will continue to entice) people to spend lots of money on will be at the top of the list.

    Based on the website information the odds have been increased to balance out the fact that the Doff Packs cost more then Keys, so 1% is probably on target for this promotion.

    Except, the original red-box chances seemed to be 0.3... I think they wouldn rasie it above 0.5, based on it's popularity alone.
