-Part 1-

Stardate 87961.99

The stars streaked passed the window in the ready room. James Throne stood there with his hands clasped behind his back. After picking up two new officers from Deep Space Nine, the crew were ordered to patrol the Alpha Centauri sector and look for signs of Tal'Shiar activity. As he thought about the mission, James walked over to his desk and picked up a PADD.

"Columbia, can you show me the reports from the U.S.S. Davidson?" A small, blue, human like, hologram appeared next to the admiral. "With pleasure Admiral." She said with a nod, and clasped her hands behind her back, "Done". James scrolled through the reports looking for any clues. Then he saw something about a federation outpost that was attacked.

"Columbia..."

He looked at the A.I.

"Have Commander Bream lay in a course for Outpost Beta Prime."

"Why would the Tal'Shiar attack a reasearch grub?"

"I guess we'll find out when we get there."

The A.I disappeared and James put the PADD down. He let out a sigh and made an about face and headed for the bridge.

As James walked onto the bridge he heard someone shout "Admiral on the bridge!". All eyes focused on him. The Rear Admiral replied "As you were." Just as James approached the command chair, his first officer got up and walked back to her chair next to him.

"Report" The admiral said as he sat down. Lieutenant Commander Bream replied, "Sir we've arrived at Beta Prime." He said from the Ops console. Columbia materialized next to James's left arm.

"We have visual" She said.

"Show me"

"You won't like it sir."

James scowled, "Dammit just pull it up on the viewer."

The A.I nodded and the large view screen flashed to life. Up ahead there was a large cloud of dust coming from what used to be the outpost. Large pieces of debris were floating around the remains of Beta Prime. On the bridge the crew is silent as they stare at the wreckage. James put a hand on his chin.

"Lieutenant Salvo, scan the debris for signs of weapons discharge." He said. The Lieutenant responded, "Aye sir scanning debris fields now." James looked at his first officer, Liza Mullahy.

"I think we could easily guess who did this." James said. The young commander nodded. Suddenly a beep came from Lieutenant Salvo's station. James got up and walked over to see what it was. The lieutenant turned to face him. "Sir I've found traces of disruptor fire. I'm still trying to match the source of..." Salvo was interrupted when the ship went to red alert. James walked back to his chair. "Columbia what is it?" The A.I appeared. "Someone uploaded a virus trying to find the source now." Her hologram flashed for a second. "Captain!" The A.I shut off, and suddenly the bridge went dark.

It was pitch black, normally when they lost power emergency lights would come on, but not this time. "Everyone stay calm." James said as he pulled out his phase pistol. Suddenly he heard the buzz of transporters. The first green transporter he saw, James shot it. Five more beamed in and the room was lit with phaser and disruptor fire. During the fierce firefight, James felt something hit him on the back of his head, and he fell. One of the Romulans turned on his flashlight and tagged the admiral for beam out. "Jeseth" He barked. "Get the others, tell Hakeev we have the package. Make sure the crew is out cold." Another Romulan turned his light on. "Yes sir!"
