Some people had put down the 1.9 million dilithium in the first day. Those people have probably made it back by now as the Ultra rare Omni beams and those rifles were going for north of $150 million.
As some more people have now done it, prices of most Ultra rare have dropped from the $150 - $200 million range per piece!!! to the $50-$100 million range.
Lol, I personally know someone with level 16 science and level 19 engineering. He's making billions of EC selling stuff in the Exchange.
Me? I'm at level 7 in one school and toon, so I'll keep slowly grinding my way up to level 15 which should be at some point in October. At that point I 'll have level 15 access to all schools using 4 toons.
Well ... so Cryptic had to bribe players to craft after they nerfed XP with a virtual sledgehammer. I see the "fail" is strong with this one!
"With the first link, the chain is forged. The first speech censored, the first thought forbidden, the first freedom denied, chains us all irrevocably."
Getting mats under the old system, specially with the hour bonus was way better than the grind now. I haven't checked, but I was told they removed the mats from the dilithium mining also, is that true?
I had one drop over the weekend on the mining. Granted, I didn't really hit the mining asteroid too hard. Better dil to be gain in Empire Defense.
50% increase on the 6k research thing, so 9k per hit. will help get higher levels a little faster, otherwise not much in change except to save a few days worth of grinding.
T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW. Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.
I am not going to bother. I had a maxed character with the old crafting system and all I got was stupid accolade. So no, not going to spend 200 days just to get to lvl 15 only to see that I can craft RANDOM items and not those I want.
Since the crafting system was essentially an insult from the devs to the player base - a shameless dilithium sink designed to eat up our savings so we wouldn't spend them on, say, ships - I plan to spend no dil on it whatsoever, and spitefully save up my dil to buy ships.
I will spend like... 2 k dil per night /longer absence phases for 4x the 5 hour MK XI projects.
The rest of the time i will make lowlevel players happy with purple MK IV-VIII for a bargain.
Beta, LTA, CE, Multiple preorder Versions, all Addon Packs except AoY, nearly all KDF/Rom and ~50% of all Fedships, over 25 LockboxShips, Endurer of Atari's "Year of Hell", but...

Since I have lots of bank space across many toons, I probably will make the low level stuff and just store in until the expansion when we might have an influx of new/low level characters.
An inane idea...I won't spend a bit of energy on it; I've got enough other goals needing attention. Maybe next time around, if I've managed to max the R&D rep, it might mean something...

I've saved some resource packs to open during the weekend.
Chance of a catalyst is worth that much at least.
Other than that, I shall be doing the same thing with crafting as always......idly slotting research projects and hope I don't die of boredom before getting the ability to craft anything useful.
This bonus weekend wont mean a thing to me I'll just do what Ive been doing and load up the 20hr mission. You see gang not only am I a tight wad but Im like that old turtle in the race dont care how long it takes I;ll get there sometime.
Is this new system worth waisting all my hard earned dilithium on heavens no
