The Temporal Disruption Device really really needs an update, maybe there was a time when it actually did something but with the AI of now where every NPC seems to be constantly moving faster than this weapon IF they don't shoot it down long before it reaches them. In the desc it says it makes up for it's slow speed by becoming untargetable or something but I don't seem to notice this ever unless it's just something the npcs see. When the thing does reach the enemy and detonate it really doesn't do anything unless the shields of the enemy are down completely which never happens because of the speed of the projectile and the recharge rate of enemy shields. This weapon is supposed to be from the future, but in combat it's worse than a photon torpedo most of the time. Please fix it cryptic/pwe.
Its supposed to be targetable, like all of the other high-damage torps. Actually it does the most explosion damage of any regular (non-console) torpedo, plus it has the slow affect, which makes it very useful when used in appropriate build. Pretty much fine the way it is, IMO.
As much as I' love it to see to get more umph it isn't as bad as you make it sound...Undine are like the only ones bouncing around...it's more likely AoE killing it since there is so much AoE these days.
Sorta off topic but it's amazing how easy a npc can take down your heavy torps but theirs at times seems to do the impossible and evade whole volleys of FAW/CRF to make it to your ship!

I haven't flown my Wells for a bit, but doesn't the HY version blink in and out of reality on the way to the target?
Owning the temporal disruption device should unlock a R&D schematic to craft a bop ultra rare version. At the end of the day it's still a blue and the loss of mods (and a bit of base damage) hurts.
For kicks and giggles I set up a Wells with this, a gravimetric torpedo and a mega well build. Then did a solo sb24.
I thought it might be fun to clump and high yield the enemies.
Though the whole run the temporal device contributed about as much as throwing small rocks would have. It simply couldn't reach a target without being shot down
Now the heavy gravimetric torpedo did much better. While not as good as a spread would have been, it could at least reach targets as it travels twice as fast.

I really wish there was some way to get VR or UR versions of various bits of Lobi equipment. having so many rare versions while so many people are running around with VR or UR...combined with leveling equipment not being mk XII often puts them at something of a disadvantage compared to fleet/reputation/crafted gear.
Ah yes, the TDD. It's purported boost to Chroniton torps is still paltry "Cat 1" as is referred to in the vernacular.
Its' tooltip says it has a 100% chance of creating a distortion field in HY mode, but that is patently false. Also, the damage variance is WAY off....even in HY mode it often times does TRIBBLE damage. It needs some love in light of the current meta.
That said, when it was new, I was able to use the 3 pc clickable power in PvP to slow down people close enough to use the torp on them. Go figure.

Indeed. Something w/ this and the TriC torps have some very weird -Acc mod, as they keep missing constantly, regardless of how much +Acc I have.
I'd complain about the Zombie Thread buuuuuut it IS on the topic of a Temporal Device. Soooo IS the Thread from a year and a half ago, or did it simply skip ahead without passing through the intervening time?
When you upgrade it, launch it on III and use those Torpedo traits...one that makes them fly faster and the other that causes spatial rifts on impact...it does MASSIVE damage and puts on a great affect ;-)

Which trait causes spatial rifts? Are you talking about Overwhelming Force starship trait or something else?

I think that is the Gravimetric Photon Torpedo.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.
I forget which, but there's this trait and it makes the device create a MASSIVE temporal explosion wave and an actual boom on your speakers. Used on some targets and in certain conditions, it has destroyed them. It does also just look so awesome :-)

"randomly phasing in and out of our spacetime reference" emphasis on random. Think I've only ever seen it happen 2-3 times ever.

Use it on a target that cant/wont shoot it down, like crystaline entity.

I knew using Kinetics would be playing the game on hard mode, but what I didn't realize was how bad the deck is stacked against Kinetics.

Are you sure it's a trait?
Been looking at the list and cannot find anything to fit the description:
