Game Client will not start after latest patch (S9.5 launch)

I mentioned this somewhere else, but i'm dropping it here in case someone can help - just patched up my game, went to start up after the server came back online. Got to the Cryptic screen where it sat for five minutes before throwing up the error message;

"Fatal Error: Unable to initialize on-demand patching and connect to Patch server. The connection was idle for too long."

Given that I just patched up with no issues and i've had on-demand turned off since before LoR came along, not sure why i'm getting this issue. As of now, i've attempted several start ups and had that message every time.

Could really use some help on this one.

    Game now crashes for me too after this new patch. After hitting the engage button on the launcher and the game starts to load with the Cryptic logo then boom crash to desk top with no error message.

    i gave it time and it is now working for me, it did go non responding but it started working after i gave it time to recover.

    Have you verified your files? Also do you use on-demand patching? If you do, try disabling that.

    Yes, i've verified about seven times now, and no, I don't use On-Demand and i've had it turned off since LoR came out.

    Can't get in the game either, on demand patching is off.
    It always crashes at the end of the cryptic load screen. Also safe mode doesn't help. :(

    te4-4.ccr01.bos06.atlas.cogentco.com seems to be the issue. Anything over 180ms is supposed to be an issue, but then it manages to connect fine afterwards. So I don't quite follow what's going wrong.

    Managed to get it working. Seemed to be related to the router reset I just performed, which would also account for BF4 not being able to connect to EA's servers either. Oddly, there are apparently no line faults and my internet in general seemed fine.

    My main is on ESD. Left Risa and went to fleet star base and from there to the fleet mine. Headed over to ESD and was walking from the teleport and bam, game crash. Now everytime I try to get into the game it dies on loading ESD. Verified 7 times now still no luck. Need some help here please? Oh ffs I got lucky post 13 go figure that one.

    having the same issue, game wont load past the "cryptic" emblem and that's it. it stopped responding and i left it there for over an hour and it never cameback... did 9.5 just go live today? (haven't been paying attention lol)

    last night before the second maintenance, the game, launcher, everything was working perfectly.

    but now when ever I login to the launcher I get this error:

    Fatal Error: JavaScript exception '"Uncaught ReferenceError:selectShardButton is not defined

    any suggestions? this is occurring after using link to get fresh copy of the launcher file. before launcher would just say loading, but not ever get to login screen

    ok I found work around. in launcher options, select show all games. then restart the launcher. boom! no more error!


    BWAHAHAHAHAH! THEY BROKE THIER LAUNCHER WITH BAD CODE!!!

    LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!!!!!!

    Had same issues, basically hung on first loading screen. Tried restarting a couple of times, no joy. Also seems to have disabled the options button a the top. So with one running huung in the background I loaded it up a second time and it seems to be working fine, did a patch fine and I seem to be in now. Go figure...

    I am now having this problem on my laptop. I have tried the suggestions mentioned so far in the thread but it just goes to not responding and hangs there... I thought they fixed this??
