Dear Askray, de facto Supreme Overlord of all Forums.

THANK YOU.

Thank you SO MUCH for creating a list of dead horse threads. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU.

No more shall "Kill Tovan Khev" or "I want a t5 connie!" or "I HATE DISCO BALLS GRAWR!!!" threads curse these hallowed grounds! No more shall my blood pressure spike as I marvel at the idiocy of humanity (at least this little sliver of humanity). No more shall countless repetitive threads clog the forums in place of actually helpful stuff!

I salute you, Askray. Pop by the Hail Ba'al thread some time and I'll throw you a metric ton of ludicrous shinies in the joke.

    I hope they hand out warnings for those who keep making threads like those. If they get enough warnings then they get banned from the forums.

    Don't thank me at all.

    This was an idea that's been floating around and Smirk gave the green light :) We're all (mods and managers) going to work on keeping this up to date with any dev responses of things that are consistently asked on the forums. :) As for how we will handle those that create new threads about items in the FCT, that's not a discussion we're going to have as that's discussing moderation.

    If anyone can think of anything to add by all means send me a PM and we'll discuss it in our mod forum! No idea will be ignored and no, your names will not be released obviously.

    So why are you reading or even commenting them? Not everyone checks the forum daily and not everyone has over 4k notes , so it is possible that some of the threads appear more than once. What I do not like back when someone sucks up like you and specially to censor such askray .

    Dude.

    The topics that Askray listed turn up at LEAST once a month, usually once every week, and last about a week and a half before being closed due to excessive flaming. They are utterly pointless and not conducive to a happy, productive forum population.


    In a nutshell, the threads that Askray mentioned attract large numbers of comments just like yours, inevitably resulting in massive flame wars, hyperbolic hatred of Cryptic and PWE staff, and titanic arguments that make everyone involved angry (except possibly Dental, since they all remember that STO is just a game).

    Askray's just engaging in prophylactic treatment of flame wars, which is 100% a good idea.

    Folks you can have this thread to complain, or comment about the FCT thread but ANY violations of the rules will result in warnings.

    That means no name calling, no naming & shaming, no flaming, no trolling etc.

    I want to let you guys have this thread to comment about what you think about the FCT thread (which I've renamed it just for that purpose) but remember that there are rules that need to be followed like it or not.

    My thread was closed , contained no trolling or flamewar . There was someone who had several thousand posts , wrote a dead horse again , then appeared askray a closed thread. I did not know that a similar thread already appeared in the past.
    I see no reason why someone who is paying for the game could not talk on the forum about how he does not like Tovan Khev ( even though I have no problem with him ).

    So again I dare the moderator (censor) that he wrote here what topics are banned . And in the future, there could be an interview with the devs in style : T5 connie - No , Galaxy refit - No , Tovan - No , More Dinos with lasers on Their Heads - Yes , etc .....

    Policies like this make me want to create T5 Connie and Kill Tovan threads just to wave a middle finger at those who get so uppity over BS like that. Never wanted to before, but now its very tempting.

    Oh you know what other topic should be added to that FCT.... is the ARC threads... the please remove ARC because is spyware...

    Devs have constanly mentioned is not spyware and that it will not be required to play STO for quiet a long time :D

    I preferred when mods were purple rather than blue. The blue is a PITA to read with the current forum colors.

    At this moment what's listed in the FCT is what's not allowed to be made new threads about. And honestly this is why the FCT was created. Our hope is that with dev responses, CM responses we can clear up a lot of issues that come on the forums. Lots of threads get created about Tovan for example, dev's have posted in them before but people ignore that and keep making threads wanting a dev to respond. This way, people can see it's been responded to, there is the answer and that be that. It may not be the answer that is favored, it may make you want to murder klingons in cold blood, but those will be the honest answers. None of us like censoring other players at all. It's not something we take some perverse pleasure in, and we definitely don't like having to request bans being placed. Moderation is a tough job because it makes more enemies than friends.

    as for the T5 connie quote - it was the most recent one I could find. I can dig backwards and find ones that dstahl posted about, wishy posted about, stormie posted about, brandon posted about, other dev's have posted about but really it's kinda pointless :P

    Anything people think that should be added is more than welcome to send me a PM (it's best to do so than on this thread but I'll try to keep an eye out on this as well) and again it will be discussed. This isn't me just saying "Okay boom done". We will take time to discuss each issue, find a dev response to go with it and if need be we CAN ask for an official reply as well. We'd like to have as much information in the FCT thread to make sure the things that keep popping up are properly addressed, and not just people waiting for a dev to reply on something they have done before...500 times :)

    Same as me if I see a board with sign : No smoking! Immediately I have a taste to take an one even if i finished with the smoking some time ago.
