I know there's a billion of these threads but the last one I saw was pretty old. I currently have 4 VA characters and I have all of them geared toward earning dilithium for zen to keys to sell. I am saving for the Mobius Temporal Destroyer. I have about 37 mil and at last check I need about 175 mil. This is painfully slow since I can't spare the time of day to get all 4 characters to their 9k daily limit (I am a LTS). I wanted to know if there were other quick ways with doff missions or something. I know Klingons can get contraband but I'm not entirely sure how to get a lot of it.
Thanks for any and all help.
I use three methods on my alts. Generates 100+ million every 30 days without serious effort, as I tend to focus on different techniques on different alts.
1.) Farming missions in the foundry generate on ave 650K + [1x daily per toon] Type 'farm' into the search field.
2.) Gear drops from STF's - Gorn Minefield, starbase 24 can be lucrative. I've noticed - or more likely have been lucky - recently with VR XII weapon drops.
3.) Doffing - this is a biggie: do the free route every 7s hours and get the 7 freebies from Starfleet academy. Vulcan, Andorian and tellurite. Do the mission assignments that generate the free rare and vr doffs. Let the doffs accumulate. Each quarter I 'clean house' and sell into slavery... i mean post on the exchange ...the extras. On 2 toons so far in the past 24 hours i've sold over 30 million in doffs. Heck some VR doffs go for 30+ million....
4.) Save your chips + processors + marks for processing on dill weekends. It will add 50% to it's value.
5.) Sell keys on/adter the weekend they drop boxes. Prices usually go up 25%.
contraband is earcned from maurading class doff missions, you can also sometimes get the shipboard "confiscated contraband from crew" that can award it too.

For contraband you run the Maruading Duty officer missions, there is a spredsheet of which one s reward it and how much in my sig.
Otherwise, Foundry Farming Missions (FED FARM ACD 102), Tour the Galaxy Daiily, Ker'Rat (although in Ker'Rat the most likey thing that will happen is a bunch of klingons vaping you)

I understand all of them but 3. What do you mean by the free route every 7 hours. Also what missions assignments generate the rare and very rare doffs. Also thanks for the useful advice and that goes to everyone that has responded so far.

On Starfleet Academy the personnel officer gives sets of common officers for free (2d assignment no DOFFs required)
If you do the colony chains in the nebulas and clusters, you can get a chance at "X Cluster Support" which gives a blue on success and a Purple on Crit (1 per cluster)

Sorry I wasn't clear; 7+ doffs every 2 days. More if you invest effort (missions) and dil.
All of the factions give away free duty officers every 48 hours (or so). Romulans get a double sized portion as they can grab them from both New Romulus AND their ally homeworlds.
On Earth at Starfleet Academy, there is a building in the south west corner. You can grab for free 1 doff from each of the major disciplines (tac, eng, sci, and civilian). These show up in 2 days and are randoms. Outside in the quad and behind the building are officers that can let you have access to the exchange programs from vulcan, andor and tellur. Also free (7).
From the same officer inside, the first option on the list for new officers is a pack for 1000 dil. It's a random assortment, but comes with several uncommon (green) and a chance for blue (rare) officers. I have done well on this route and gotten a fair share of really valuable doffs from it. Better than using the same dil to buy a key...
Until you actually slot them (ground or space), these officers can be traded. A little 'lock' icon appears.
Another source of officers are 'fleet duty officers'. These cost fleet marks and can be resold once opened.
As for missions, there are many. Some are unique to different areas of the galactic map. Too many to list here, but both the wiki and reddit have excellent guides and walkthroughs on how to get them. Again the results can be random, but the rewards are worth the effort.
Click the following link for a list of Doff missions that rewards contraband. The higher the quality of your Doff the better your chances of success and more importantly critical success. I am currently ranking up my 2nd KDF toon who mostly has decent green quality Doffs. However, that toon only has 88 Doffs in total. You need to have 200 Doff slots to get a good mix of Doffs for various missions.
Getting contraband for a Fed toon is much slower than for a KDF toon. But you should be able to get around 3 - 5 per day per toon.
You can make money on Risa during the Summer Event which ends on July 17th by selling favors. Every hour there are 4 events you can do to get Lohlunat Favors. I focus on the dance event at the top of every hour. Just do what that dance instructor does and after 12 minutes you will get a total of 50 favors. The other event I do is the Horga'hn (Risian Idol) Hunt which starts at about 22 - 23 minute after each hour. The hunt requires you to either rent a floater (1,000 EC each time) or buy a floater (Standard = 50 favors, Enhanced = 500 favors, Superior = 1,000 favors).
For the hunt you can simply rent the floater. With enough practice you can do the hunt on 3 toons before the time runs out; 15 minutes. However purchasing a floater saves time since you don't have to run to renter, then fly to one of the places where the Risian Idols appears when the hunt begins. The number of favors you get in this event is a bit random, but on average should be getting 50 favors.
I recommend you get a tribble for each of the Doff you want to do the Hunt with. Then buy some Risian food for 5 favors. After about 2 - 3 hours you will get a Lohlunat Tribble which increases the floater speed and improves handling. These tribbles are bound to the toon.
Favors are currently selling for 6,000 to 6,400 each on the exchange. Therefore, that means by doing the dance and one hunt you will get 100 favors per hour or 600k - 640k ECs per hour. Once you get used to the floater you should be easily able to do the hunt twice in the 15 minute time limit. Like I stated, doing the hunt on 3 toons is possible with the rental or the standard floater, but you need to be quick about it and not make more than a few mistakes.
Doing the hunt on all 4 toons is possible, but each toon will need an enhanced floater (4 x 500 = 2000 favors) and you still do not have much room for error. If one of those toons has a superior floater then it is possible to finish the hunt for all 4 toon on a consistent basis.

Watch the key market on the exchange. With just a little study, it is very easy to make EC there.

You can recruit from the Andorian, Tellarite, and Vulcan representatives every 2 days.
You can recruit from the Personnel Officer every 3 days.
While it is possible to get blue and purple Doffs through recruiting, it does not happen very often. I think there is only a 5% to get critical success. Critical success can mean you get a green, blue or purple Doff. But it can also mean you get multiple white Doffs.
If your a part of a fleet and have the FCs to spare go to your recruiter there and buy blue and purples from him. Open them up and then post them forsale, make sure you take the time to track them down by power for the prices on the exchange. I sold a few last night power was reduce cooldown on evasive manuevers, sold for 2.5 million ec. With a rarer power you can get 10 million on up. I have sold one doff from there before for 20 million.
also sell white doffs on the exchange Use the exchange officer at the recruiter to break your green doffs down to sell. I usually sell for around 30K each, just doing that I made 8 million on one character last night.
