I've been playing Star Trek Online for 4 years now. The ground has changed alot and is far more enjoyable, than it was originally. However there needs to be some changes.

You have alot of players who only play space, most of these players find ground tedious or it's generally because they love space fights. I used to be one of these players because ground was so horrible, but now i enjoy it.

To the changes which need to be made. Threat is the biggest issue on ground. To the experienced player who knows about teamwork and how to generate Threat. Melee weapons currently over rule ranged weapons in the damage threat table.

I have sat there fully geared to tank with the highest Threat gear in the group, yet one player with a melee weapon gets the highest ammount of Threat. Borg for example ignore myself and go to the player behind a wall using a melee weapon. When I'm stood right next to the Borgs firing using massive ammounts of DPS yet your completely ignored for the Melee user! Threat should work as it says on the label. You must damage the target and recieve Threat as intended, not be ignored for someone not damaging behind a wall, with no Threat skill/Mods.

Defera needs to be totally reworked, It's buggy as hell. I can see most of the bugs are due to poor programming and caused by what the players do. The code was not designed for how the players play here. It needs to be look at with a fine tooth comb. The Easy and Medium quests need more care. They need to be more favourable to play. Not knock on a door to find no one home.

Dyson Ground, is by far the most enjoyable, yet there are two things which need to be sorted.
Campers one and there will be a small uproar from these because theres about 40 or slightly more here. Who just camp while the one's doing all the work sometimes get stomped on. Campers rewards need to be nerfed more, why would they help when they get nearly as much for waiting for us to do the work for them?

The other thing about Dyson ground is one Area in City is totally bugged. You can sit there and watch Voth spawn over and over and over wiping out the guards. To eventually you having to stand there and get no credit for the end reward. If this is intentional, you need to implement a reward for saving zone's Not just for this one area because it always is the first to go normally. But other ones , the campers above, who sit there. Slow down the people who are doing all the work. Sometimes I can not move from that one area. And help Take the whole area.

More Ground features need to be implemented. Star trek is all about exploring Space and NEW WORLDS, to boldly go where no man has gone before. Balance out the space to ground content. Make ground an interesting break. You may find having a perfect balance of both content, keeping players longer and having them spend more money.

Skill recharge, this needs to cool down no matter where you are on ground in space offline. With one exception Buffs need to stay when your offline. Quests cooldown whilst your offline, why not Transwarp? or other skills? Buffs all need to stay as I said because look at this way you send a doff on a mission it finsihes just before you log. If it vanished whilst your offline. You'd be forever holding back collecting the reward. So to reitterate skill cooldowns to cooldown in space on ground and offline. Buffs to stay offline/in space on ground. With the exception of the Fleet buffs which work on ground space(but not cooling down offline) Some players get certain buffs cooling down offline some don't currently.

And lastly,I apologise for a wall of text. Skill points You need to seperate ground and Space skills more. This so far creates people unwilling to do ground because they've spent 300,000 points in space. A work around would be to add more skills for Ground and give more Abilities.

Split each Officer into two add specialisations to :-
Tactical and Security
Science and Medic
Engineer and Operations

Each should have a dps mechanic support and tank mechanic, they do now but abit more. With more options as space has, people would find ground more enjoyable.

Edit:- This does not fall in Ground persay but also space, The ability to edit the sound and colour of your weapon. Would be a great addition. Specially for the Star Trek Fans. They could finally build a starfleet ship, whilst using Antiprotons and having Phaser looking effects!
