How to wear a bikini on ds9?

I've seen several players walking around with them at deep space 9, but my outfit doesn't do anything when I click on it. How do you do it?

Officially, you don't. Swim suits are intended for Risa only, but some people have found a way around it.

If you really want to know I suggest you ask them next time you see one, but I'd say the dev's will probably clamp down on it as soon as they figure out how people are doing it. :(

I think the devs know how it's working (as it's basically due to a total failure of the KDF costuming system that was shoddily thrown together because the KDF didn't get 'off duty' costumes at the start, and has been causing issues ever since), but the question is if they can fix it and when.

Personally, I don't expect it to ever be fixed (because they haven't fixed the KDF costuming bug in what, a year now?), but we'll see.

Considering how much "work" and "effort" the devs have put into KDF uniforms since the game launched in 2010... meaning *NONE*, I don't think they know their way around to even begin looking.

Based in how their bugs usually manifest...I'd try to save the swim outfit. go to a tailor at a hub off Risa, then try to change to that outfit.

But I could be something else entirely.

Unless they have their hands tied, they should just give what the public wants and allow swim gear off Risa. Full customization of the tailor would of course be more preferred

mwa ha ha now if they want to take kdf's fun away with bikinis they now have to actually devote some resources towards fixing the kdf tailor!!! Brilliant. We kdf finally have Cryptic by the balls this time. And remember kids,

    Orion bikini = good
    other bikini = undignified :P

    Western society...Helllooooo Nurse!!!! :eek::D:o

It's perfectly fine for the orions to wear their "uniforms" as its part of their society...Let's leave it at that

There is nothing to do, the outfits never change. If you are wearing the bikini that is what shows - everywhere. Qo'nos, your Starbase, the Allied command base in the Dyson Sphere, missions, etc.. KDF characters only.

I find it fascinating and incredibly stupid at the same time that Cryptic assumes that Orions wear "bikinis" all the time as part of their uniform because we saw Orion slaves wearing them. We saw uniformed Orions on screen in TAS and they wore regular uniforms and even helmets. The whole idea that Orions are just naked all the time, all of them are affiliated with the syndicates and are slavers and spys is quite ridiculous. Or do you think the people at the highly prestigous Orion Institute of Cosmology run around naked all the time? :D

No one counts the animated series. And every single time we have ever seen orion females on screen they are always scantily clad.

And let's not forget that the Internet and MMO's have a population who are ... That type of person ... And I'd hazard a guess and say that they are a largish percentage in MMO player bases ... Certainly "that type of person" constitutes a big enough "paying" percentage for most game companies, not just Cryptic/PWE, to want to"cater" to them ...

Like it or not, the "Chainmail Bikini" brigade is a part of the STO players base, and they are hear to stay, and the Devs will continue to create content for them ...

TAS is official canon since they released it on DVD.

I know that is the real reason, but it's still stupid :D

    That doesn't mean it's canon.
