The doff's I currently use are: 1 VR conn officer to reduce TT cd + boost, 1 rare damage control officer to have a chance to reduce emp2shields/weapons, 1 rare matter/anti-matter specialist officer to give a energy weapon DR when using aux2damp, 2 rare development lab scientists to reduce ST cd + boost.
If you have the ability for a 6th doff to slot, than I would either recommend either a projectile officer, or maybe another damage control officer, or maintenance officer for ET cd reduction, it is really all up to you.
If you have access to fleet tac consoles, this would be an improvement in dps over what I am currently running, but if not than what is listed is perfectly sufficient.
If you can afford it, try to use VR doff's in place of the rare ones if possible, as this will shave an extra 2sec. off of TT/ST/ET cd each, or better energy weapon DR in the case of M/AM specialist.
The damage control doff is fine as a rare one, and will not break the bank, as the VR one is only a 5% chance difference, for an enormous cost unless freely obtained.
You can tweak it how you prefer, but this will give you a good solid, and reliably destructive start.
Thanks for the advice, I think i'm going to go for the 3 piece Borg set .. seems to suit my build better (Not using the Aux2Bat flavour of the month build)
Plasmonic leech seems fun, sadly I have no points in Starship Flow capacitors so I doubt it would offer me anything...

the Leech does well enough on its own without Flow Capacitors, anything extra is just a bonus

I've been playing around with different mobius builds since the ship came out, from AP temporal abuse to torpedo boat, and currently I've settled on an aux2bat build.
You can do it without sacrificing a science BOff completely, however to get DEM in there with everything I wanted, I had to go full kindergarten and axe sci completely.
That being said, this thing melts basically anything you point it at. AP crowd control builds (you can find my Temporal Abuse build buried in the Fed shipyards somewhere) are fun and powerful, but with tac-buffed DEM, disruptor burn, APB3, and all the other passives and goodies, the is so far the highest DPS build I've ended up with for PvM.
It is complete trash in PvP obviously, but it's damn fun everywhere else. The only thing that sucks is lack of HE cleanse, but I have rarely needed it - done every elite STF in the last 48 hours, and the only death was to the CE's AoE explosion. It's an odd bird, but oddly awesome.
My guess is "hope" keeps people not playing but posting on the forums. For others, its a path of sad realization and closure. Grieving takes time. The worst "haters" here love the game, or did at some point.
I am looking for the best set for an aggressive style of play using my Temporal destroyer...
I am thinking Maco Deflector/Shields + Omega Engines (seems the standard for an Escort)
But would some Fleet items (Shields/deflectors et al...) be better ?for an aggressive Escort?
I'd like to throw in my 2 cents but didn't want to make assumptions so a couple questions. First one is are you using a tactical, engineer, or science captain?
Do you have the Wells on the same character?
Do you have access to the temporal lobi pieces?

This is my build, and it does pretty well.

Hope you enjoy.

DOffs are 3 technicians (can be done with 2 purples with reasonable effectiveness), 1 BFI, and Marion.
Edit: I'm tac, not engineering, whoops.

The slowdown build is on that page, along with a ridiculously outdated PvP build. The page one build is decent, but not as effective as many others.
