|Star Trek: Columbia's Gate|
-"Facing Evil"-

/April 15th, 2414 1600 hours\

The bridge was open and grey. In the middle, there was a large holographic display of Earth Space Dock and the traffic around it. A tall woman who stood at around 5'12, monitored the display. She wore a black and green uniform, along with a piece of security armor on her right shoulder. The woman had bright green hair, which was shaped into a long ponytail. "Columbia," she said looking at the holo display . "Is the admiral still in the mess hall?" A blue figure popped up on a round stand next to her. "Yes commander. The reporters are there as well. Would you like me to contact him?" The A.I's voice had an Australian accent and she wore what symbolized a Starfleet uniform. Liza sighed and shook her head. "Tell him final checks are complete and we're ready for launch." The figure nodded and disappeared.

--Mess Hall Deck 7--

At a round table near the bar, Vice Admiral James Throne was surrounded by federation news reporters. The lounge was empty as everyone was busy getting ready to leave Earth.

"Admiral Throne how do you feel about the destruction of the Columbia's Gate-A?"

The man buried his face into his palms and sighed. "Haven't I answered that one before?" He looked up at the reporters. "To tell you the truth...I miss the old girl. But as they say, all good things must come to an end."

A camera man moved in. "What would you have done to stop the Klingons from overwhelming the ship?" One of the reporters asked.

"If our sensors weren't jammed in the first place, then..." James was interrupted when he saw Columbia pop up from the stand in the middle of the table. All the reporters turned their attention towards her. The blue A.I looked at them and raised an eyebrow then said, "Sorry to interrupt you admiral. Final checks are complete and we're ready for launch." The admiral stood from the chair. He towered over all the five reporters. Throne's original height was 5'12 until the augmentation. After the surgery, he stood at 6'4.

Throne nodded, "Understood Columbia. Thanks for saving me." He said as he walked out of the room.

"My pleasure sir." The A.I replied before disappearing.

The Columbia's Gate-B was a large Obelisk Class Cruiser that was redesigned to fit federation standards for carriers. This carrier held the infamous 501st and 22nd Delta Flyer squadrons. The first Obelisk Carrier was discovered by Captain Keith Smith, Ambassador Worf and a few others, after entering Iconian gateway. They used it to fend off an Iconian fleet that attacked New Romulus. Ever since then, the Federation has been building more of these carriers. But they take longer than most ships.

On the bridge, James exited the turbo lift to hear "Captain on deck!". He turned to see that the voice came from the ship's Chief of Security, Commander Chel'kath Nessal. Everyone straightened up, those that weren't sitting, stood at attention. "As you were." Throne said as he sat in the command chair. Columbia's small figure appeared next to the chair. "All non-essential personnel have been beamed off admiral. She said clasping her hands behind her back. James looked around the bridge to see his friends and fellow officers looking back at him. "All hands brace for cast off. Abih, get us underway."

"Aye sir moving us out of orbit." The Saurian replied.

"Oliver, spin up the slip stream drive, set countdown for ten seconds as soon as we hit warp 9." Throne ordered.

Oliver replied "Spinning up slip stream drive, aye sir."

"Columbia lay a course in for Deep Space Nine."

"Course laid in sir." The A.I stated

James sighed. "Engage..."

The large white carrier, with green and black colors in an Orion pattern, lurched past the blue planet. Once she passed the station, the ship stretched and disappeared behind a blue flash of light indicating it went to warp.

A figure who stood at 6'5 looked at the view screen of the federation aligned, R.R.W Vilus. The warbird was a large, but rather old, D'deridex class battle cruiser. The man was known as Commander Jemorar Kahven. Right now he was staring at one of the most dreaded villains the Romulans have ever dealt with...Colonel Hakeev. "If you cross us again Hakeev, I'll make sure to take out that other eye of yours." Tovan Khiev, the ships first officer said sharply. The villain laughed, then said " Control your dog Commander." The Colonel cut the channel, and the screen now showed a large battleship in front of them.

"Sir, their powering weapons!" Katra called out from her science station.

"Raise shields, ready torpedoes full spread, and target their weapons." Jemorar ordered.

Tovan looked up at the Commander and said, "Target locked, ready to fire."

Kahven nodded, "Fire"

The warbird fired a volley of green torpedoes at the large Tal Shiar battle cruiser. Their fore shields flashed brightly as the torpedoes managed to take out Hakeev's guns. Suddenly, the I.R.W Khnial started to bank hard to port as she fired her disrupters. The Vilus followed as the two ships came at each other's sides. Plasma shots flew around as one vessel attempted to eliminate the other.

Katra, the ship's Chief Science Officer, turned away from her console and said, "Commander I'm picking up multiple Elachi warp signatures?"

"How many?" Jemorar asked as he strode over to her station.

"Fifteen ships total." The woman stated with a worried look on her face.

Behind the Khnial, there were multiple flashes of green light as an Elachi force warped in. They targeted the Vilus, and began to fire.

"What's the ETA of our reinforcements?!" The Commander yelled over the alarm.

"Five minutes sir!" The operations officer replied.

"Dammit!" Kahven said as he sat back in the command chair. "We'll do our best to hold our position. Continue firing, and divert all power to shields!" He added.

-Five long minutes later-

"Shields down to fifty-five percent. I don't know how much longer I can hold them." The calm voice came from Chief Engineer Kai.

Aft of the Vilus, several ships warped in. The voice of sub commander Kaol came up on the speakers. "Sorry we're late Commander. We ran into some...roadblocks along the way." He said. Jemorar smiled "Kaol, a pleasure to see you. Have your ships concentrate fire on the Elachi, I'll handle Hakeev."

"Acknowledged, starting our attack run, now." Kaol replied. The republic ships raced forward as the Vilus fired at the Khnial. Both sides collided as one ship fired at another. After several long hours of fighting, the Khnial sat face to face with the Vilus. The remaining republic ships turned towards Hakeev's flag. Jemorar stood from his chair.

"Tovan, open a channel to the fleet."

"Channel open sir."

"Attention all ships, this is Commander Jemorar of the R.R.W Vilus. We've now come face to face with Hakeev. It's time we bring him down and make him pay. Take them out and make sure no one escapes. Fire on my signal." Jemorar motioned the officer to close the channel.

"Target locked and ready to fire." Tovan replied.

The romulan commander sat in his chair and pointed at the view screen, "By all means...fire." The space around them lit up as streams of plasma flew towards the Khnial. Their shields flickered and disappeared, leaving the flag open. As the enemy ship began to break apart, Hakeev appeared on the Vilus's view screen. "You may have taken down my ship, but this is only the beginning!" The colonel said sharply before ending the channel.

Tovan frowned, "I'm getting readings of a gateway activating. It must be Hakeev."

Jemorar looked at the view screen as the Khinal's core exploded. "Either way, we did it. The flag has been taken down...for now. This isn't the end, but it's a victory we deserve."

Kata looked at the commander, "Sir about that Elachi fleet we saw earlier, where do you think they could've gone?" She asked.

Jemorar turned to face her. "I guess we'll have to...Suddenly he was interrupted by several beeps from Tovan's station.

"What is it?" Jemorar asked.

Tovan replied "I'm picking up a distress call from...New Romulus. They say an Elachi invasion force is closing in, and fast. All available ships are to redirect course immediately."

Jemorar stood up. "Looks like we found them, helm set course for New Romulus maximum warp!"

"Course laid in sir."

"Engage!"
