And indeed, what kind of idiots would do something like that?

Wonder if it's possible/relatively painless to port over an underwater type zone for this similar to Lemuria from CO?

Correct. The animation just makes you hover a set distance from the ground. If you tried to use them, as is, in deeper water, you'd sink, but keep "hovering" underwater.

Maybe make a scuba area, a small crescent island just off the main island, not unlike Molokini just off of Maui. It could be a "wild life sanctuary" and therefore prohibit Powerboard use within the area, with a "field" that disables the board (I'm guessing with no change the board will dismount where the water is too deep just like they do where it is doesn't exist now).

It might be cool if it was on the side of the island a bit past the new Promenade area.

Yup, that sounds like a viable solution, and would be cool to see/fun to work on.

That would be great, IMO, if it could be implemented. I'd certainly have no issues with a 'no powerboard' diving zone. You could have a buoy line around the diving zone perhaps -- certainly there are 'no boating' areas like that in the world today.
    Live long, and prosper.

I like it, and sounds like Taco does too. :)

What's good for the goose is good for the gander. :P

I support the idea of a small scuba area where you can collect oysters for the Risians, avoid dangerous aquatic life (maybe give you a small bleed DoT like the cannibal tribble), and shooting poachers of Risa's marine wildlife sanctuary with orbital bombardments and chemical warfare.

    +1 to the OP.

And there would finally be a use for the "underwater view" graphics setting in the Graphics Options menu! ;)

Lemuria was all sorts of pain and agony in Champions development. I would not want to repeat that here.

However, a relatively shallow (20-50' deep) area of coral/rocks to swim/scuba in would be doable.

The issue is how we would do that AND have powerboards. Powerboards require the water to be a specific depth in order to function. We'd either need to disable powerboards in the deeper areas, or make some tech for them to coexist.

20-50' is plenty; no need for more. Your programmers have 1 year to develop said tech. Get cracking! :D

i like this, but i think the outside of the lighthouse island is a better place.

I approve. Then to make it scary... an unknown temporal incident occurs deploying Jaws into the oceans of Risa..... then the aliens from Signs invade this water... nevermind.
