I just might go with the Pequod, or the Rachel, given my main's name.

    That's the Axon, IIRC.

Don't forget those named "Party Barge". :P
Klingons could call it "Barge of the Living". Well, anyone could. But you know what I mean.

I don't know what to name mine. Something along the lines of "Immersion Breaking Party Boat of Rainbows" or something...

That name is only valid if it is crewed by scarcely dressed Orion women.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

Wait, why would Cryptic prevent us from naming our ship after a Civil War Ironclad? That doesn't make any sense to me.

+1 it's not one of the hero ships so what gives?

    I'm thinking the "Argo". I love Starblazers.:D

Then why are you naming it after the chopped up American version?

The ship is called the Yamato.

Though i won't get that ship i think "USS Blub" would be an appropriate name

I know. But I've seen a lot of ships called "Yamato" in game over the years. Just trying to be different.:)

And if you want to be technical, then I want a playable Bolar Federation. :D

Names to avoid, they might invite trouble

Titanic- hit and iceberg and sank
Lusitania- torpedoed by a U-boat and sank
Britannic- hit a mine and sank

So I will call mine Mauritania after a liner during the heyday of luxury liners during the early 20th century

The biggest question shall be: how many Monitors and Merrimacks there will be. And how many of them will pop.

I already named my corvette the Monitor. :D

        Mine will be as follows:

        Hot Black Desiatto [sic]
        Bistromath
        Heart of Gold

I need 4 more good ones.

        [edit]
        Ahh...
Total Perspective Vortex (I hope it fits)
        Disaster Area
        [Maybe] Zarniwoop
        [Maybe] Agrajag

        then for my Corvettes:
        Gusty Winds
Slartibartfast (because, How fast is your ship? Slartibartfast!)
Please reconsider ARC. Please make it optional, at the least. PLEASE.
It seems the vast majority of your most active players (forum regulars) hate the idea... and while that's a small subset of the playerbase, I think it's an important constituency.

        Maybe the SS Sultana.

Brief history is that it was a steam barge with a capacity of only 376. When the Civil War ended Union soldiers were released from Confederate prisons and many of them forced their way on to the SS Sultana by threatening the crew. They wanted to go home as soon as possible. It it is estimated that in total there were 2,400 passengers on board; more than 6x it's legal capacity.

During one of the SS Sultana's stop overs repairs were done on leaking boilers. Obviously it was shoddy work because on April 27, 1865 three out of four boilers exploded. An estimated 1,800 people were killed which is more than the number of people who died on the Titanic (1,517).

I'll certainly fly the luxury cruiser with pride if I get it. I'll probable stick with my tradition of digging up rough translations of names/themes in various Native/Indigenous/Indian communities and nations languages (still Latinized though) to name my ships.

        E.g.

        Acalli-Nahuatl~Boat-English
        Mangoonagad-Ojibwe~Big boat-English
        Umiaq-Inuit~Large skin boat-English

There may be no direct translation for "The Love Boat" or "Disco Fever" though.

If I pick up another BO for a build for the luxury cruiser the first last name for consideration of the BO will be Stubing, and they will helm the ship.

"Stubing, Emergency Power to Funk on my mark! And no, I will not call you McLeod, Warbux, or Wilde!"
