boff quality question

I'm finally going to upgrade to gold this weekend and I'll have enough boff slots for separate space & ground teams. but I was wondering....

Does boff quality affect the effectiveness of stats? For example, I have a blue Saurian right now with efficient. Should I be looking to replace her one day with a purple saurian with efficient? Would it be a better efficient, even if there is no superior efficient?

And would her boff abilities be performed better (if I train her the same as the blue one)?

She will never see ground combat.

The same for the humans I'm getting to fill the other boff slots: blue human boffs are a lot cheaper on the exchange than purple ones.

I know that doff active abilities get better with higher quality, but I can't find anyone saying anything explicitly about boffs.

The quality has no effect on the abilities and only an effect on which/how many traits you have.
If you are aiming for a certain trait, for example the famous operative trait, it's "more likely" that a purple one has the "superior operative" but if your blue Bo has the superior operative trait and your purple one just operative the blue one will be better. A green one on the other hand can (as far as I know) not have superior traits in the first place and possibly just the inferior "basic"version of your wanted trait.
Ultimately a purple one will most likely have more good traits (but that only effects ground since there are very few space traits) and on occasion a rare ability that can't be trained by captains or Bo trainers.

Bottom line: look at what you Bo actually has not at it's color.

'Efficient' is a unique exception to the normal BO Traits... There is no 'Basic' or 'Superior' version of 'Efficient'... there is only 'Efficient', which means that Green, Blue and Purple Saurian BOs with 'Efficient' perform equally as well for space combat purposes... (BOs are not like Duty Officers, where quality does make a difference for assignments, regardless of Traits...)

Now if you were talking about Ground Combat, there is no practical difference between Green and Blue Efficient Saurian BOs. Purple Efficient Saurian BOs have a slightly better 'Superior' Ground Trait, (which can effect Ground Skills) though a Purple Non-Efficient Saurian BO would be better for Ground Combat (with 2 Superior Ground Traits...) then all variations of 'Efficient' Saurian BOs... Not that this is a issue with you...
