Shuttle-only weapon - useless except for synergy?

After playing a few rounds of 20 player KDF fleet alert, I am starting to wonder: Are the shuttle weapon from the Vault useless in light of standard DHC, Harpheng torpedos, and the 360 AP? I am using the cannon from The Vault on my ToDuj as of now.

    Yep, useless. Put some real guns on that fighter.

    If you got it, add that phaser or photon defense console to the fighter, couldn't hurt to have a extra 360 weapon every three minutes.

    Yeah they seriously need a wider selection of 360 BA's, for shuttles/fighters considering every other weapon from starships can be mounted.

    For shuttle vs. shuttle stuff, I've always favored a transphasic torp build. Put the Rapid Reload on there as a proc engine for the PWO Doffs, and the Breen Cluster. If you land that cluster torp, it'll pretty much pop any shuttle right through its shields. Heck, even if you're fighting starships, that's not a bad way to go. Why chip away their shields when you can just kill their hull directly?

    I use the 360 Anti Proton Beam from the Obilesk stuff

    All the benifits of the shuttle weapon Arc of fire, But with real firepower

    I use the Breen space set, cluster, obelisk core, omni beam, point defense console, spatial charge launcher, and the subspace circuit console with great results against walker mission with my shuttle.

    With my fighter I use 3pc sol set, obelisk core, same consoles, quad cannon, bio neuro warhead. The trick with that is to kill the target before the warhead gets there, then it's point defense system just hammers everything around for a long while. Pretty effective against fighters.
