I have set the energy of the weapon's system to 120; the overall (teoric) DPS of my energy weapons, straight forward arc, is 5465 (*).
The overall energy requirement is 64 (**).
Now I wonder: without any buff of sort (no skills, no Bridge Officers, no Duty Officers, nothing at all) there is a rule of thumb to determine my forward DPS during prolonged fire?
To determine your actual DPS in combat is almost impossible. One can only make a good guess.
This is because there are so many factors determining this.
Debuffing, Critical Hits, enemy damage resistance, traits of boffs, etcetera.
To make a really good educated guess, it would be great to share your build, including all boff and doffs on your ship. Still, it would only be a guess, nothing more.
The best you can do is get a DPS parser and run some missions multiple times. Compare the results and see what happens.
