Yellow swirling markers on Dilithium nodes??

Does anyone know what those Yellow spirling marks are. They show up on some of the mining nodes. I try to mine once a day with each of my characters on the "Vlugta Asteroid Field". Sometimes they show up sometimes they don't. I had 1 guy tell me that if you scored over 1000 in the Dilithium mining game you would get a item. That was bull. I have scored over 1200 and got nothing.
If theres nothing to them and there just their for show I think cryptic should add something to them. Maybe if you do score over 1000, you would get something. A little extra ore or some particle traces. Right now if you score 775 in the game you get 200 dil and a few particle traces, but if your good you can potentially get over 1200.
The dilithium game has gotten stale, as well as all the other games and puzzles in sto. Cryptic needs to do something anyways to freshen them up. Awarding someone that scores big on one of their games with the yellow markers could be one way to do it.

In the past some Mining Nodes could drop other items on you - that might be the indicator and it is now bugged. I have not done any Mining since my Claims ran out back during the Temporal Lockbox. And to be honest, I found it stale by the second time I did it. :)
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

Dilithium mining at Vlugta and the mine holding should be DOffs jobs.

Anything that needs direct player action should award at least 2k dili if not more.

The markers are the particles received when you finish mining a node. If a player doesn't pick up the particles they remain there in the form of the swirling marker, but noone except the player that left them can pick it up.
