I'm waiting like forever now for one more to join Defera. Only feds 'round, barely any kdf as is usually the case. Most players just play fed.

Most are co-op but msot of the old fleet action or ones that award fleet marks only are still separated by faction.

    Play KDF.

We got great ships, proper sense of humor, and a zone chat that is alright compared to the insanity of ESD. Try it.

Should I start posting again after all this time?

I would love to play Colony Invasion with my KDF characters, but it is nearly impossible to get in. Now that we are all friends here (FED-RR-KDF), Cryptic should make some missions cross faction, so KDF players could play them too.

What endgame content could go co-op? Possibly a list is needed to show the Devs where co-op is needed?

Think a distinction needs to be made here...cause you guys are talking Ground queues, no?

Hit up the queues window, filter Ground - look.
Hit up the queues window, filter Space - look.

It looks to be more of a Ground issue than a KDF issue.

I haven't queued Ground in over three years myself.

Well I tried to make a KDF character, but the story and especially the story choices really did not suit me. Epsecially that one at the very beginning where FED fleet is lured by a false sos signal and when I talk to the FED captain, he realizes his mistake and wants to leave. Then my character says something like I am not a Romulan and starts shooting. Sorry, byt this goes against my personal belief and it is anything but honorable as well. So I just stopped in a fear there will be more of such nonesence in other missions. And I was really looking to buy myself a BortasQ...

I understand what you mean by that but, it is really no different than the many Fed episodes where you are forced to go against the very principle of the Federation and Starfleet.

Klingons are known to shoot civilians and wounded (DS9, the "trap" Worf fall into and his judged, and the episode where Sisko's son is on the frontline and scared to death). It's not very honorable, but that's canon.
Klingons are there to win the fight, and if they have to kill wounded, so be it. They sure won't brag about it, but the victory will be honorable for them.

As for the captain, he is armed, and able to fight, why should we let him go ? Klingons doesn't have the same conception of war as we do. They never surrender, and fight to the death, or retreat when they can't achieve victory or do enough harm to be useful. Surrendering is dishonorable, unless you have a plan.

You don't like how the klingons act, and I have nothing against that. But don't say it's nonsense. It's a different logic than yours our mine. That's all.

Or at least better coordination. We need a channel like PublicEliteSTF except for normal KDF queues.

Sadly, the Star Trek IP is about the United Federation of Planets. The Klingon Empire is classically not a part of that organization.

In the STO game, only the Romulan Republic stands head to head with the Federation. And the reason for this? I suppose there are many. I would guess it's their packaging. They pack quite a wallop, Captain.

TL,DR: Klingons are bad guys, and ugly...and probably smell bad too. No one wants to smell bad.

I play an Orion female (not one of the skimpily-dressed ones) on the KDF side. Don't usually do STFs, however. Doing lots of doff missions and mailing ("smuggling") stuff I don't need over to my Fed-side characters to help 'em out. Not everyone on the KDF side is a bad guy/girl. Worf, for instance. And Kor (I think that's the char. from DS9: "Any enemy of Gowron and the High Council is a friend of mine."). Don't have to play bad if you don't want to, once you reach level 50. But some players apparently like being the bad guy/girl as a change from being a good guy/girl. I prefer to think of myself as a double agent (working on KDF side, but also helping Fed side).

    Yeah...

That's the problem with the KDF faction. Simply not enough players. I did not bother playing any STF missions until I reached max level because most of the time I am sitting around waiting for others to join.

I only play specific space STF with my KDF toon. Would like to play Colony Invasion and the Big Dig, but....

I fly my T5 Hegh'ta Heavy BoP in the following missions.

    Infected: The Conduit
    Khitomer: Vortex
    Crystalline Catastrophe
Azure Nebula Rescue (no elite version of this STF)

Perhaps I will try Mind Trap (ground STF) assuming it is available for the KDF and it is active.

Mine Trap is cross-faction, but requires such a large team (20 minimum IIRC) that you'll be sitting in a queue waiting forever for it to fill up. It's too bad, because it's one of the more entertaining ground missions.

I have a KDF player and my character during periods. I cycle between Fed, Romulan, and KDF but mostly KDF.

I like her my KDF but at the same time. I do not play KDF because of these reasons.

    1) Lack of content

    2) No real cross-faction ability. Worf was a Federation and respected among a lot of Klingons. The role Klingons play in the game is the bad guy or gal. Even Riker served among a KDF ship shortly. Note, there was many times there was many cross-faction swapping on TNG and some other series.

    3) The whole lack of Romulan marks content.

    4) Lack of a larger variety of ship customization.

    5) No cross faction ships. Honestly, The Federation had a Bird of Prey called the HMS Bounty . I see no reason why the Romulans don't have something similiar to the Defiant with battlecloak. The Klingons should have a high powered escort Bird of Prey with battlecloak at minimum

I play a skimpily dressed Orion! I dont go for the Flower Accent thing. I like using the species-locked bits, although i use the Klingon sashes sometimes. My Nausicaans all use Nausicaan bits. My Klingons look as close to Klingon as i can make them. When i get my giant Gorn back (had to dump him for another Nausicaan for a ship build) he will be a giant Gorn with the funny bug eye covers.

Do i want more KDF players? Sure!

I dont want a ton of Starfleet-centric wonks who try a Hegh'ta once in a normal difficulty episode replay, decide BoPs are OP, and then complain that the Defiant needs to be like a BoP... flanking, 5 tac consoles, uber cloak, and unkillable. ;)

The Bounty isn't a good example. That was a single B'rel that Kirk stole from Kruge in ST3. It's not like Starfleet had access to BoPs across the board.

And as far as cross-faction ships go, it's likely that would just further dilute the factions and give players even less incentive to branch out. Why would I ever choose to play a KDF character if I can roll a Fed and still get access to KDF ships? For the same reason giving the Romulans access to T5 ships of their allied faction is a really bad idea and I'm glad Cryptic realized that.

Also, if you're looking something similar to the Defiant Rommy-side, check out the Ha'feh.

    1) Lack of content
The KDF have the same access to Content that the Federation players have. They are dealing with the same STFs, same Replays, same FEs, same Dyson Sphere, same Reps, etc that Feds have at end-game.
    2) No real cross-faction ability. Worf was a Federation and respected among a lot of Klingons. The role Klingons play in the game is the bad guy or gal. Even Riker served among a KDF ship shortly. Note, there was many times there was many cross-faction swapping on TNG and some other series.
Klingons do not play the badguys in this game, and many Queues are cross-Faction.
    3) The whole lack of Romulan marks content.
What? KDF can do Tau Dewa and earn Marks. KDF can beam down to Romulus and chase critters and scan broken machinery and what not.
    4) Lack of a larger variety of ship customization.
    I agree here.
What? The Feds do not have playable KDF ships; and the Roms can fly any alliance ship under T5.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

I should also point out that Fed players get their B'Rel (and so, the HMS Bounty) experience during the Doomsday Machine missions, where they fly a BoP to kill the planet killer.

Or they like trolls and flamers, thus are drawn to ESD. :P

They could be off searching for maraudering missions in various sectors that rewards contraband; like me. :)

I am not a very social person, I play STO not to meet people, but to play STO. I don't have a ton of time to play STO so I need to split my time between my Fed / KDF / Romulan toons all of which I have specific daily objectives. That basically leaves no time for chit chat in the game... that what the forum is for.

There are two things that would get me to play KDF more. They may not be realistic though.

First would be mixed queues for things like the 20 man fleet alerts. Those are still separate and make it tough to get fleet marks.

Second would be allowing my KDF captains to join my Fed fleet. I don't care about whatever justification they make up for it, I just want to use the facilities my Fed fleet has already built up.

    1) Content. I do not want shared Fed-Klingon-Romulan content also. I want Klingon content dealing with Klingons faction alien races.
The Klingons are just as involved with the Romulans as the Federation is. The Klingons are fighting the Borg just as much as the Federation is. The Klingons are fighting the Undine MORE then the Federatrion was. It is all Klingon Content because those wars are all just as important to the Klingons as they are the Federation.
    2) I haven't played a cross-faction queue where Klingons wasn't bad mouthing or insulting Federation players.
That does not mean the ability to have cross-Faction play does not exist - which is what I was responding to.

Plus your anti-Klingon spots are really showing through here - which makes me believe your stated points have nothing to do with why you do not play Klingons. :)
    3) How about going to the Orion homeworld and fixing broken machinery?
The Federation does not have the ability to go and fix Andorian machinery, so what is your point?
