This may or may not have already been covered. I couldn't help but notice during the featured episode that I was unable to change my traits. I had hoped to change my traits before going on a ground assault against the Undine. Unfortunately I was unable to do this because the traits were locked in.
Since you guys have nerfed us on using all of our traits at once can we at least move them around before changing to a space or ground map? That would seem to be feasible since we are facing PVE opponents rather than PvP. It isn't a exploit because we all have the same number of traits we can employ. It would seem to enhance gameplay for those of us who are serious about getting the most out of our toons.
I would be happy if you called it a veteran bonus... I just want to be able to properly equip myself for the next map that's all.
Allowing you to change while in a mission would seem to be opposite of the point of limiting them in the first place. The goal of the change was not to make you take 1 minute to change them every time you went from space to ground to space. The goal was to make you think about what you might need in a given mission and assign from that. So if you know you are fighting Borg you select from space and ground traits that might help you against the Borg.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.
After you beam down, use the beam up button to leave the mission. Change your traits. When you reenter the mission you will begin at the last area that you left.
I honestly kind of wish they'd separate the ground and space player traits like the rep traits are now.
I doubt they'd let you slot 8 of each, and I know the masses would rage if they were forced to slot anything less than 8 space traits.
Still, I'm a generalist, or maybe I'm just lazy. I like the set it and forget it mentality, Pick the traits that will serve me best in the widest set of circumstances, on the ground and in space. At least if I swap a space rep trait around, it has no affect on my ground effectiveness.
