MMORPG. Its in the name. ETA - coming from a bloke who pretty much only plays female characters. If I wanted to play a bloke I'd get up and do real world stuff.

    1. Why does this matter?

    2. Probably about thirty percent, plus a sizable number of the male characters.

Orions in bikinis with the bust slider turned up to max, as well as characters named "Six of Nine" in the catsuit with the bust slider again turned up to max, are either lesbians or men. Because seriously, dude, what did you expect?

More realistically-proportioned and -clothed female characters are likely played by women. Characters with outlandish hairdos and outsized heads are an equal chance of either.

I'm going with 5%, and that's being extremely generous.

Out of a current friends list of 62 people....

    8 say they are female
6 i know for sure are female (teamspeak over the years)
    1 is probably a guy
the other one has never come on any TS i am on.

One thing ive learned over the years is those who make a deal out of bits are the ones who never meet the women in the game. You dont talk about it, they come on teamspeak and theres never a problem.

The moment you comment on them being a girl, or anyone tries to hit on them, you never see them again. Period.

I also know for a fact that a couple of the best team pvpers in the game are girls. Take that as you will.

One of my fleetmates is a woman. She has a Scimitar that killed my Scimi, another PVPing fleetie's fleet Mogh, and another fleetie's Voth Palisade in a 3v1 match. Without dying once.

Anyone and everyone who says that women can't play MMOs/fight/play sports/do math/physics/whatever is a complete idiot. Plain and simple.

thats a guess i wouldnt make, but none the less there is only 1 female i know of who plays mmo games, i regularly get in contact on swtor with another player who regards me as a friend, but i dont feel anything for the title. anyways, he tells me that his other friend is female who also plays that game alot and have had contact with her once over msn, only lasted a few seconds, just a hello and goodbye message, nothing since.

    It'd be funny if it weren't true.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

I wonder what it would do to me if going onto team speak or chatting, someone would call out surprised: "You're a boy?"

(Worse even might be if someone said - a boy? You're one of those fake geek guys, right?)

Eve if there is only a minority of men that react like that to women, it would probably be still very annoying to experience it.

I'm a male. Most of my characters in MMOs are female. Some are male.

That bugs you, doesn't it? C'mon, don't hesitate. Let's hear it! TELL ME THAT BUGS YOU! Let the whole world know that my gameplay preferences irritates you! :D

Sorry its annoying as if females are at a disadvantage is any game, when they are found out, they are treated like celebrities and given gifts left and right. I have females, and married couples in my fleet and I don't discriminate, but I don't play favorites or pander to feminist zealots either. Truth be told the sexes are just better at certain things because of their predisposed histories and experiences to it. You can go on pointing out the statistical anomalies or you can just accept the genders are different in their own ways. As far as pvp is concerned, the guys are at the top why? Cause they are blood thirsty, and are run on testosterone and endorphins from a murder high.

I think once society stops trying to put everyone and everything into a politically correct box, we will be able to advance as a species according to his or her strength and weakness. The fact is that everyone cannot do everything and they shouldn't be encouraged to either, it breeds a false sense of self righteous importance from years of fictional praise.

Honestly, I neither know nor care what percentage of people I play with are or aren't female.

Maybe because in other games I play, I seem to encounter more females then males. And in at least one game (not STO) I have talked with "fleetmates" (game doesn't use the term Fleet, but everyone knows what I am talking about) via Voice chat.

But truthfully gender has never really mattered to me online, in game or outside. I am here to play a game, not find a date, so what gender you are doesn't matter to me.

YES, this is also a thing that annoys me, the idea of relationships in a video game built around fictional characters. Sure if I meet someone I like to talk to in a game and they live close no problem, I will seek them out as a possible interest if I feel so inclined, but when I see some guys seeking out relationships actively in a video game, I feel sick to my stomach. I think this is the best you can do? are you even employed or can you even get in a vehicle and go to a restaurant etc. The fact that some people cant even leave their chairs to try and get a date is very sad to me.

well i know of at least 8 females i play with, 2 of which are lesbians, one is bi, not sure on the other 5, as i don't know them that well lol; i know the ratio of male to female players is about 4 or 6 to 1 making the female population of star trek online about 25% to 17%

i myself am transgender, male to female...so i defy your labeling sir :P

Oh man. Whippin' out the biotruths up in here. Why did you feel the need to go off on such a pointless, self-incriminating rant exactly?
