Space - Targets Friend and Self

Space tray powers - when it says Targets Friend and Self, what does that mean exactly? When I select a friendly NPC, I can apply heals and buffs and such, but it seems inconsistent. HE, TT, and Aux to Sif look like a pure heal for the NPC, but with Tactical Fleet and Tactical Initiative, the graphic effect appears around my ship and not the NPC. For transfer Shield Strength, the graphic effect appears around both ships. There are probably other examples. All of these tray powers say Targets Friend and Self. So.... Do these buffs affect just the friend when one is selected, or does my ship benefit equally? Do the different tray buffs act differently as far as who gets the benefit? Do the buffs work differently when the Friend is another player and not an NPC?

The term friend and self in this game, mainly just means X power has the ability to effect either one person, or both at the same time.

Heals normally only effect the target receiver, while tactical fleet effects the whole party (it must be an actual party as far as I know), and tactical initiative has a space as well as a ground use.

The space one only effects your boff's, while the ground skill effects the whole party.

Good explanation. I guess I was perplexed about the phrase Targets Friend AND Self. The heals should really say Targets Friend OR self.

One thing you will, or have become accustomed to in this game, is the poor descriptions for how things should, and do work.
